Excelsior! Academy
The reason I'm asking is the law has changed from my youngest dc, but I don't know where to look for the actual law. Now we are raising nieces and nephews that are younger and we need to know. All of my family is pretty small. In fact, DH's sister was 85lbs and 4'11" at graduation. ThatCyndiGirl
Thanks for posting this question! By reading the link I realized that my son can move up to a booster seat!
courtney.byrum
Just remember he may still be better off in a harness. Both my 5 yr old DS and 4 yr old DD have a Graco Nautilus and will remain harnessed until they outgrow them. My guess is about 1 yr based on prior torso growth. 4 yrs AND 40 lbs is considered the bare minimum to move to a high back booster, and even then most kids don't sit right through an entire car ride. ETA: my 5 yr 10 mo DS is 46 lbs and 45 ins, my 4 yr 8 mo DD is 42 lbs and 42 ins. Both are barely above the 2nd harness slot, so we have a full 2.5 ins of torso growth to go before they outgrow them Edited May 19, 2010 by CourtneyB
