sadiegirl
Okay, need workbooks, websites that will encourage my boys to learn about American government, civics, etc. They are grades 7th and 8th and we haven't touched much on either. History is our interest and we finished the last book in Joy Hakim's The History of US as well. Also, we are finishing up the last lesson in our geography book so I thought we would take this semester and focus on civics, gov't, etc. I hated these subjects in school(thirty years ago!) so I am hoping someone has found a fun way to learn about them! thanks for input! He lost.....:tongue_smilie: But he is greatly enjoying his week there and learning a lot :001_smile:

Jen in PA
I found great materials here when I taught a class on the Constitution for our co-op last year.
Peek a Boo
gotta plug taking them to city/county meetings. we have learned more about our local community and discussed WHY authorities/reps can and can't do certain things, and sought precedence elsewhere in history. They give speeches about what they learn to city council and make quite an impact. I have teenpact down as a resource later too. :)
