eight_gregorys
Hi, everyone! I am starting Exploring Creation with Physical Science with my 6th grader. Can anyone recommend some physical science experiment kits that would go well with this?? I know there are experiments in the book, but my daughter loves science and loves experiments so I'd like to add a little more. I would like to spend $100 or less. HollyDay
try homesciencetools. They carry the kit. Take a good look at it though, it you might have many of the items already in house.
Mrs Mungo
I haven't used the Apologia science. However, the Science in a Nutshell kits from Delta are great! I probably sound like an advertiser for them but I really, really love those kits. They have a ton that are physical science related-bubbles, electricity, levers, energy and motion, gases, magnets, physical changes, pulleys, sound and more. They are awesome. Each kit is around $30; they come with 3 student books and enough materials to do most of the experiments more than once. So, you could it with a friend and/or save it for younger kids. Ginevra
I second homesciencetools. I bought their kit for Apologia General Science, which my dd is doing now. I love to have kits for science experiments because I loathe scrambling around trying to find a piece of cork and a brad (or whatever). It's so nice to just open the box and take out the needed items. I think the General Science kit was only around 35 bucks.
G5052
The link is here: http://www.hometrainingtools.com/physical-science---science-kit/p/AM-KTPSCI/. If you click just below the words "Kit Contents" on "kit order form" you can see everything possible you might need. I usually pick-and-choose from these forms because I own a lot of science stuff, we always have battteries/protractors/antacids around, and DH was in the trades so we have a variety of nails and tape measures. So I order things that I don't already have in the house, even if it's something I could get locally. I don't get out that much other than grocery store :001_smile:. Lori D.
Physical Science is a general overview of physics and chemistry topics. You might want to take a look at the book Reader's Digest How Science Works -- lots of cool chemistry and physics experiments, and many really DO use what you have around the house. Below are a variety of ideas of kits to supplement physical science, listed by topic. Enjoy your science adventures! Warmly, Lori D.
