I am halfway through the one atozmom suggested (Rand McNally Beginner Geography and Map Activities) and it has done a great job. My daughter just turned 5, it is suitable for K-3. We have a few other books that have helped for this age range. The 3-D World Atlas and Tour was neat, but just to look at the pictures, we learned mostly from the first book I mentioned.

The Children's Picture Atlas has been a blast for us, it has these search-and-find things when we study geographic areas like grasslands, mountains, and culture/transportation. Very simple and fun for the young ones.

It's enough to get us started with SOTW in a month, but now I'm wondering where to go next. The Map Skills series starts at Grade 3-6 range. I will check out the Evan-Moor books.
