Vanna
I just ordered Katje, the windmill cat / Gretchen Woelfle ; illustrated by Nicola Bayley from the library. It's a corresponding literature suggestion from SOTW Vol. 3. How do you pronounce "Katje?" TIA!

Mrs Mungo
http://forvo.com/word/katje/ eta: Hit the play button and you can hear a German-speaker saying the name. It's sort of like kaht-ya. Edited December 8, 2009 by Mrs Mungo
ChristusG
My guess would be kind of like "gotcha" but with a "K."

Great link! I grew up in Germany and this is exactly how it is pronounced. (BTW, "j" is always pronounced with a /y/ sound in German.) love2read
Not related, but it might be fun to read the book "Boxes for Katje". I love that book and just had to put in a plug for it. SOTW 3--it might just be related after all.
