Melissa in St Louis
We would like to make some placemats for Thanksgiving, and I was thinking of using some leaves between wax paper and ironing it....It's been super rainy and wet lately and all the leaves are wet; do you think it will still work? We are celebrating Sunday, so it only needs to look ok till then. :D
*Jessica*
Would it work to microwave the leaves (assuming you have a microwave) to dry them? Or put them between a couple of rags or paper towels and run the iron over them until they are nice and dry? I don't think using wet leaves would work very well. Hen
I think wet leaves would make the wax paper crinckle up later. I just made one of these crafts, and I used regular leaves from outside, dry weather..I think they still had moisture in them because I noticed the paper crinkled some a few days later. We are going to make more, and this time I put some leaves in books to press before. I'd try to dry them out first.
Chris in VA
I'd dry them first, too. Could you use contact paper instead of waxed paper? You will get a nicer product.
