BamaTanya
We usually go to a festival this time of year. When I mentioned it was coming up, the children were excited . . . because of the FOOD! Well, we aren't going to be able to go. Is there anywhere I can get a special treat like funnel-cake? (Don't tell me how terrible it is. I know!) tia
lynn
The batter itself is pretty easy to make and google the recipe. You can use an empty squirt bottle like ketchup or mayo, fill with batter and use it to form the funnel cake.

Halftime Hope
or more precisely, I should say that dh is the one who does them. They are a Christmas morning tradition. We buy the batter mix for them on the baking aisle at the grocery store, so I'm not much help there, but I'll bet you could Google and find a recipe as well. Beyond that, it is pretty simple. Pour the better in a thin stream into deep, hot oil. Turn over once when golden or light brown. Drian on paper towels, then sprinkle w/ powdered sugar or p.s. with cinnamon. enjoy! V
DIY-DY
Isn't that pancake batter poured into hot oil and sprinkled with powder sugar? Oodles of eggs! OMG, it's good. I made funnel cake once when trying to make something else, and I felt like I'd just split the dietary atom... :drool5:
Mrs. H.
These are the ones we make, and it's Alton Brown's recipe, for all you die-hards out there. Funnel Cakes
