Ohio12
My oldest (now in first grade HS) went to Montessori Preschool and all I did at home was teach her to read. Now dd#2 is 4 and doing HS preschool. But I am not really doing much. We are doing OPG and reading time, but I want to do a little bit more fun stuff. Anyone have any ideas or even better some websites or blogs with lots of ideas for this? An example would be that one of my friends told me today that her son's PS teacher would draw some fruits in a pattern and he would have to complete the pattern with a stamp or paint or something. Thanks!

Joy at Home
Hi, I've found this book to have lots of fun stuff to do for that age. Most of the ideas include things you already have lying around the house. The beauty of the ideas is that some are so simple, yet so fun for kiddos that age. Sometimes when I feel like I'm neglecting my youngest, I'll pull out the book and get a quick idea of something fun to do. http://www.amazon.com/Preschoolers-Busy-Book-Creative-Activities/dp/0671316338/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1253415729&sr=8-1. Also, this book is a classic: http://www.amazon.com/Slow-Steady-Get-Me-Ready/dp/159160236X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1253415893&sr=1-1 HTH! Kirch
Here are a few of my favorites to get you started. :) If you have a topic or theme that you're interested in doing, such as transportation or a specific book, you can also google for related activities, i. e. "preschool transportation activities" or "'Chicka Chicka Boom Boom' activities." http://homeschoolcreations.blogspot.com/ http://www.preschoolbystormie.com/ http://www.kidschalkboard.com/ http://www.first-school.ws/ http://www.everythingpreschool.com/ http://www.pitt.edu/~poole/kindergarten.html http://www.makinglearningfun.com/ http://www.thevirtualvine.com/ http://www.kizclub.com/index.html http://www.dltk-kids.com/

bamagirl
I love this website and am currently using the tot trays concept with my 2.5 year old. Some of the things would be too elemetary for a 4 year old, but she gives some good ideas...I incorporate a lot of the games and tot tools she mentions to accomodate my 4 year old too. It is very montessori minded. http://lapbooksbycarisa.homestead.com/TotSchool.html

NicA
I had never heard of Preschool Plus before, but I think I'm sold. I probably won't use all of it, but I really liked the book lists. I thought all of the questions about the stories were age appropriate, and I have a hard time coming up with questions on my own sometimes. Thanks for the recommendation!
