hillfarm
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel of summer chores and would like to take a little time to sew some things for 10yo dd before I get on the fall merry-go-round. However, I am the first to admit that I know nothing of what is fashionable these days. Is there a preteen equivalent of Hanna Anderson, etc.? I like more classic styles. We are totally not into the Streetwalkers On Parade look. Dd is fairly active so needs clothing that can play hard, but she is finally just starting to care a little bit about looking "nice" occasionally. I'm planning to make some swirly skirts, jumpers, and tops, but have no idea of what types of fabrics and prints are popular these days. I plan to round out her wardrobe with a few store-bought dresses, leggings, jeans. TIA for any ideas you can give me. It is so kind when others help those of us who are fashion-challenged.:D
TXMomof4
I just got the Children's wear digest in the mail a few days ago. Some of their clothes go up to size 14 and my 10 yo approved of them. They do have a website www.cwdkids.com. I really think the tiered, twirly girl skirt with tights is cute. SilverMoon
My 9yo dd really likes the Mini-Boden catalog for herself. (I order it for sewing inspiration)
TravelingChris
I have been buying nice clothing for my dd12 on Lands End and Eddie Bauer. I got some very nice skorts (she likes those better than skirts), and some nice shirts too. She always likes the Lands End knit dresses.
