fivetails
A friend of mine found this bug while she was out for a walk ~ we'd love to know what it is... doesn't look like anything I've been able to find via google, but I haven't got much to work with for search terms. Big weird beetle thing doesn't cut it. :tongue_smilie: Cell is there for size reference.. If it helps, we live in northern Alberta ~ I haven't lived here very long and am not really familiar with the variety of common bugs here, but she's been here for 10+ years and doesn't recognize this.. so maybe it's not that common... :001_huh:

E_Edgerton
My best guess is a Cicada/Locust in one of its phases. I am not sure though.
