Excelsior! Academy
High school is fast approaching for us. I like to research and, um, over-research. Which do like better and why? Is there another text you would choose instead?
TravelingChris
I started out using BJU Chemistry and she did about a quarter of the book with that. THen we switched to the Chemistry Self Teaching Guide. At first, I had to teach her anyway. She is now teaching herself and is understanding it well. She likes the self teaching Chemistry because it has questions and problems after every little point. She can't get distracted and lost. Susan C.
I looked at the Wiley Chemistry Guide on Amazon. It looks good, but basic. Apologia has your experiments, questions, tests, supply lists all mapped out for you. I like it because it is affordable and very easy to use. momof2boys
My older son liked the self-teaching guides . He tried Apologia and just never clicked with it. We add labs to it. My youngest son does not like apologia either. He chose to do Biology 101 DVD's with labs added in. He will use the Self=Teaching guide for Biology as a reference.
