Rainbows
We are doing Singapore now and will try the next level, but just in case it is too hard for DS (or I have a hard time teaching it) Id like to have something else as a possible back up. He seems to be good at math so far but I'm not the best at explaining it lol If we want a secular, spiral approach, what would you suggest? Saxon? Prefer something that won't be too teacher intensive in the later elementary years (I think I read that RightStart can be this way).
mom31257
Horizons is published by AO,which has Christian curriculum; however, I didn't see anything in the math that referred to God.
HFClassicalAcademy
We love Saxon math. My kids don't whine about it, I love teaching it because it's scripted and easy. And they gets lots of review! Liz in NC
TracyR
Saxon is the only one that comes to mind that is secular and spiral.

WiseOwlKnits
Horizons is secular as far as I've been able to tell. And they're spiral. I totally credit Horizons with making math DD's favorite subject. :)
nukeswife
McRuffy, it's scripted and includes games as well. My dd has used both it and Saxon and prefers McRuffy. It's colorful too which can be an issue for some kids but that's one of the things my dd likes about it.
skaterbabs
CLE is a Christian publisher, HOWEVER, the most reference I've found in the math has been the occasional Bible story reference in word problems (that can EASILY be edited on the fly and contain NO doctrine of any kind) or a page of "Bible Math" than can simply be skipped. ("David picked up five stones and threw one, how many stones did he have left?" type of questions.)
