Nicole M
Have you seen the U of Chicago college essay questions? I have a friend who is an admissions cousellor there, and he let me know that this year's questions are now up. https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/admissions/essays.shtml Edited July 1, 2009 by Nicole M

Gwen in VA
I love U of C's essay questions! Ds2 applied (and was accepted) year before last, and he ended up using his U of C essays for almost every other college because the topics were so interesting! (The topics he chose didn't radiate "Hi, I'm a U of C essay!") I would like to try to keep the U of C essay topics to help my younger ones generate idea for essays -- even though neither will apply there. Kathy in Richmond
Thanks for the heads-up! U Chicago is on my dd's definite list for fall applications. What fun topics! She'll be printing the essay list later today to take to summer camp with her. Hoping she'll have some time there to think about them! ~Kathy
TravelingChris
Both dh and I are graduates and I really liked the essay choices I had way long time ago (27 or is it 28 years ago). None of my children will be going, though. Ds wanted a small school, although now he is at a large one but living at home. DD #1 will need to go to a school in a state like OR, CO, WI, TX, MI or a few others that we will get enough money to send her there. DD#2 is wanting to go to an engineering school.
