C_l_e_0..Q_c
When my son was younger, we prepared a 'legionnaire meal', basically hamburger meat, olive oil, and a few herbs wrapped in foil, and in the oven. I was sure this was taken from Sotw activity book, but now I can't find it. Anyone knows what I'm talking about? I need to find how long to leave it in the oven, and at what temperature. This recipe is also used in various campings, since the meal can be done on a bbq.
elfinbaby
I know what you are talking about! Is it from MOH??
C_l_e_0..Q_c
I've never used MOH, not even seen it. So it's not from there. Although there very well could be a similar recipe.
Kristiana
There's an "Eat like a Roman Soldier" meal like what you're describing in the SOTW 2 AG for chapter 1.
MamaSheep
Not sure about this specifically, but I bet you could come up with a cooking time and temp by googling "tin foil dinner". Good luck!
Chris in VA
Kristiana is right. Just please, please don't put potatoes in it. Try for a little authenticity! :D

Ah! it would be at the beginning of the SECOND Ag... I do have it, we did use it, but I never thought of looking in that one! I did Google, and found Hobo meal. It's 350F for an hour. We had our meal last night, and it was great! We did not put potato slices in it, but this was not meant to be a Roman soldier meal. We just wanted to eat it again. We added plenty of stuff, not looking for authenticity . Everyone liked it!
Chris in VA
(We did put potatoes in ours--and we made it in the fireplace the first day of school in second grade--it got burned and wasn't a huge hit--but I had fun, anyway! lol)
Nicole M
Okay, here's a dumb question. What did the Roman's use in place of foil? Leaves of some kind? (I came to the SOTW late, so we never used the activity guides.)
