WTMCassandra
I am not sure where I heard about this--I think there was a thread about the movie. But I generally prefer books, so I got the book out of the library. What a delightful read, and so original! I highly recommend it. A sincere THANK YOU to whoever was talking about the movie. Bess
Hmm, I never read the book, but I started watching the movie and to be honest, it was a little skanky. I ended up turning it off. I wonder if the book isn't as sexualized?
stripe
I haven't seen the movie, but I have read the book. It struck me as a bit racy, in a sort of toned down way (how's that for oxymoronic!). I tend to find books about repressed females to be rather depressing, though!
Happy
I completely enjoyed the movie, but didn't realize there was a book. The title will be going in my Amazon or B&N cart right away.
WTMCassandra
There are some things suggested in the book, but they are expressed discreetly. I think I would stay away from the movie, personally ; ). The thing that most interested me was the experiences of and changes in Miss Pettigrew. And the ending was delightful! A whole new world for her, and in a good way.
Jennifer
I had to watch the movie two times before I figured out who the actress was that played Amy Adams' friend...she also played Moaning Myrtle (Harry Potter)!! Jennifer
