MomOfOneFunOne
Okay, I can find what I want for geography lacking the drawing component. So, I just need the separate component. Does anyone out there know of a book, website, anything, that will provide step-by-step instructions for drawing the united states and the major rivers/mts/et c. I'd like it to be detailed enough to show/draw each of the state borders, capitals, mountain ranges. If it has drawing the world and includes the U.S. that would be great, too, b/c we want to do that later, as well. Please say yes! I'm really not finding a thing but this is something I really want. RanchGirl
Draw Write Now book 5 page 40 has the United States. You can see a small pic of it in the table of contents on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Draw-Write-Now-Book-Draw-Write-Now/dp/0963930753
annette4
I have not used this, but am planning to add it in next year. I think that it does cover the U.S. in the beginning. However, I know that it is written for upper elementary to middle school ages.
Chris in VA
You could use a Montessori puzzle map of the US. That's how my son learned the world. You take it out of the frame (if it has one), and trace each piece. You learn the names as you take them out (tracing comes later, actually). You could easily add in rivers, mts, caps, etc. The end result is a map that is quite nice.
Orthodox6
Haven't looked at this in years, but isn't drawing maps the crux of "Mapping the World by Heart" ?
