kjdkek
After a suggestion from one of the ladies on here I decided to look at Henle Latin. It looks hard, very hard. The samples are not very good. Is there another program out there that maybe has dvd's or even a cd that tells us the correct pronunciation. We really like LC1 with the dvd's, it makes it effortless. Maybe its a little too easy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Erin
Laura Corin
Latin Prep is rigorous but fun and has a pronunciation CD (classical). It is designed for middle school. You can see a sample on this page. Laura
scrapbabe
Classical Academic Press (the Latin for Children people) has a middle school program. It has DVDs to teach with. We've really liked Latin for Children but haven't used their new program (Latin Alive). http://classicalacademicpress.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=14&zenid=2e22d5b44b17dd034951a4ddf65f1548 Smiles, Shalynn

TracyR
You could still use Latina Christiana 1 and 2 if he hasn't had Latin yet. They have DVD's for the program and I find them very helpful. Have you taken a look at First Form Latin yet? http://www.memoriapress.com/descriptions/first-latin.html This is supposed to replace Henele. Carmen_and_Company
We're jumping into First Form Latin next fall. If you received the Memoria Press catalog, you can view extremely small sample pages. I like the set-up. Although FFL utilizes parts-to-whole instruction, dd wants to give the program a try and supplement with a Latin reading program such as Latin Via Ovid or Cambridge. FFL will contain 4 high level courses each worth 1 full high school Latin credit. If we don't take any breaks from Latin, we should finish the series prior to 10th grade.
