carol
My son who will be entering 7th grade loves to draw blueprint designs for catapaults, castles, etc. and is very hands on type person. Is there any online stuff for drawing designs for this age level? Thanks
dymphna57
This is a free downloadable program that you can really use to design almost anything. My architect/designer husband loves it and the boys use it to design space ships and rabbit hutches. Neither of which has been built yet! http://sketchup.google.com/
Orthodox6
Out of my league -- but ex-researchers LOVE good questions ! I typed "architecture" in at Timberdoodle, and netted nothing. Years ago I bought a course/workbook/whatever it was on drafting, blueprints, etc. from Timberdoodle. Perhaps it is "filed" under some other term. How does this look to you? http://www.architectstudio3d.org/AS3d/index.html That link appears here: http://www.princetonol.com/groups/iad/lessons/middle/architec.htm If you live in MA, look at this: http://www.architects.org/education/index.cfm?doc_id=34 How far a "stretch" is this ? http://www.cubekc.org/lessons.html Well, that's my "Q&D" search. I hope even some of this interest you !
woolybear
http://www.fatbraintoys.com has several items that look interesting. If you go to the section on architecture, look at Home Quick Planner, 3-D home kit and for $$$ K'nex Education: Engineering Marvels: Buildings, Structures, and Machines.
