FlockOfSillies
She described it as having 180 boxes to check off or something like that. Can anyone help my addled brain? :bigear:
patchfire
I don't know if that's me, but I do make a 180 day Excel schedule for each subject. Then I just keep track of which days we're doing each week, and copy it into dd's assignment book for the week. It's worked out really well, and dd has done beautifully with the added responsibility. I would say it's actually improved her attitude towards schoolwork. :) The 180 day Excel schedules have improved my attitude towards each week's prep. ;)
swimmermom3
Patchfire, Would you mind sharing? I'm curious to see what you you've done. I have spreadsheets for weeks based on handwritten notes for the days. Unwieldy!
patchfire
Okay, I hope this works: Four Samples from This Year (3rd Grade)

FlockOfSillies
I don't think it was you; it was someone who's been here for a long time. One of the Kathys, maybe. But I'll take a look at your link; if it's what I had in mind, then it's all good! Thanks for your help.
Ibbygirl
Okay, I hope this works: Four Samples from This Year (3rd Grade) Thank you so much for sharing your samples. May I ask, how far in advance do you type into the spreadsheet the assigned work? I mean, for example, do you plan the entire year in advance or do you do it weekly, monthly?? Thank you for your reply. :)

I mean, for example, do you plan the entire year in advance or do you do it weekly, monthly?? Thank you for your reply. :) I did most of it for the entire year. I've started working on next year and there are some I'm not doing the entire year - math, because I'm just not sure where we'll be, and spelling, because I don't know if we're going to outpace the publication rate, for instance. I did have to re-do a couple when we got 'behind' but I don't re-do if we get 'ahead.' When we finished the assigned lit for the year, for example, dd still had to read, but it was just a "mom-approved" book (as opposed to re-reading American Girl books for the nth time ;) ). Rhonda in TX
I talked to her about through PM after she posted about it. That was about a year ago, but she may have talked about it more recently. She does one spreadsheet for everything. She has days across the top and subjects down the left hand side.
TraceyS/FL
Donna Young has a variety of forms too. I printed a 2 page one that contains 180 days to mark off (or record grades). http://donnayoung.org/forms/planners/grade.htm I was just wandering around trying to not have to make my own thing :D
Mandy in TN
I also put 180 days into excel. We like the little boxes.:D It keeps us moving forward. Mandy
Osmosis Mom
I would be very interested in seeing a sheet with all the subkects lined up. Hope someone can share what they have.
FlockOfSillies
So she does 180 days across the top?
Rhonda in TX
So she does 180 days across the top? She has a place for the date across the top. The number 1-180 go across the bottom. It does go across horizontally, though, yes. I would think top/bottom would just be a matter of personal preference.

FlockOfSillies
OK. I was wondering whether you'd meant days of the week, or all 180 days. That clarifies it for me.

I did a year schedule this last year, but I want something better than what I did.
