What happened was that a lot of folks got use to the other format and liked it and appreciated it. It's really all they'd known and they were happy with it. Then these changes came and blew up the board they were really comfortable with and liked. Fortunately the community is still here, the people are here, I don't know that anybody got scared off. It's just regrouping and getting things going again. Goingthrough various states of shock. I think I'm ike you though. For me, I know people don't recognize my handle as I've not been a regular. The thing is I really wanted to start posting here more but daggone, the format was just so uninspiring, it was too hard to follow conversations, I just never really go into it. I was use to my other board and just couldn't get into it much before. So I'm hopeful that I'll stick around more & contribute more to the community now like I swore I would if the site ever did change. I was surprised they held onto that early/mid-90s message board for as long as they did. I really liked the people and commradarie before even though I was more lurker than participant. I look forward to folks getting more comfortable here.

I never played this game but I'm a bit disappointed in the consensus of everybody. I think a lot of you could learn that sometimes it's good to let your guard down a bit and do something silly. It may be worth a good laugh in the right company.

My wife saw snow for the first time in her life today. It ddn't accumulate, it melted as soon as it hit the ground. If you didn't look out your window when it was snowing, you wouldn't have seen it. We live in Chengdu, China, she's from a warm part of China obviously.

This board is a much needed improvement but ther eare obvious growing pains. I always wanted to post more here and I swore if we ever updated the format I'd be more active, I didn't like the old one (but I know that's what the regulars were use to- obviously I was ... er ... irregular). They're going to need more bandwidth... that means coughing up more money. With the amount of traffic a site like this gets, they could sell advertising space here to pay for it though. I'm real happy for the upgrade.

I'm not worried about it. It helps to get us to knowech other better. My picture is already out there and I don't mind. Would take a little -not much- effort to get my name. I would have never known that I looked like Jack Kerouac until a friend online pointed it out to me. Another friend also pointed out that my wife looks like an elf :o. This is exactly my setiment. I posted a few times before but really wondered why we were using that. With the new format, it's so much better and easier. I don't have to open all those links to follow a conversation, it's better organized. I'll be here more too.

Oh, no you can still browse,but now all the threads open up much faster. It was maddening before. I was waiting for us to get out of the 90s before we entered the 10s. Going to other boards made it real difficult to get situated here. Unti now. I do beleive when you get use to it, you'll prefer this format to the old board.
