  1. My dd has hair like that. I use a heavy duty conditioner and comb it through while still in the shower to get the knots out. After rinsing and towel drying, I put Moroccan oil in her hair and leave it in. It makes it really easy to comb through. You really gotta braid it at nighttime or it's a nightmare, but the moroccan oil really helps manage the tangles. HTH. :)
  2. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: hang in there mama. This too shall pass. FWIW my roots are showing too, no presents wrapped at all. I have to wrap them all on Christmas Eve so that my son won't find them and open them all. My house is tiny too with no storage space. It's cluttered with Mount Laundry in the middle of the sofa, oh and the washing machine started leaking water on the floor and my son is sick and puking and I am having to do buttloads of laundry to keep up with his puke fests. My husband watches football too. I feel like I can't even talk to him about anything until after the Superbowl. And I'm out of Nutella too. :( :crying: I wrote this so you know you're not alone. You're in a big boat surrounded by a lot of sisters who love you. :grouphug: Hang in there doll. Since the roads are icy and you can't go out anyway, why not blow off the cookies and spend some me time? Did I ever tell you how much I love the name Cora. I'm sure I have. It was one of my aunt's names. :) I'm lifting up a prayer and a glass of wine for you love! :grouphug:
  3. :lol::lol::lol: I know right! If she seriously loved the guy would she honestly even remember the second gift? :001_huh:
  4. That's so sweet! :) My dh and I have been married 14 years and he asked me just the other day if I thought he should buy me some sort of expensive jewelry. I told him I don't want to wear anything that's worth more than my life. ;) :) And truth be told, if he were ever to spend that kind of money on me, I'd infinitely prefer a Les Paul instead. :D :drool:
  5. Welcome! :) Congratulations on your latest baby. :)
  6. :) I'll bet it didn't even matter to you either did it? For me, I know it would have been nice, but it wasn't a deal breaker. My husband is practical person. He looked me straight in the eye and asked, "do you want a ring or a house?" I chose the house. lol Good thing I did too or I wouldn't be in the financial situation to homeschool today.
  7. My dh never even gave me an engagement ring and that was fine with me. I feel sorry for your friend for letting her doubts and desires about more gifts taint one of the most special days of her life. :(
  8. Oh my gosh!! It's a miracle she's alive. I'm so glad that she is okay. :grouphug:
  9. YaY!! :hurray: Glad it came out good. I'll bet it was very soothing to eat in this cold weather. :) lol There's always a party going on down here for something so you haven't missed anything I'm sure. ;) :D
  10. :grouphug::grouphug: I am so sorry for your loss. :crying: :(
  11. :iagree::iagree::iagree::iagree: I couldn't have said it any better.
  12. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: oh my gosh! How horrible! Praying for you and Brandon's family. :crying:
  13. I don't have cable either. We watch the matches on the Spanish tv stations like Telemundo or Univision.
  14. My mom retired to a very small town and she was having a very difficult finding a church where she felt she was "home". She went to other churches in the area for a couple of years, but it was just never a good fit. She never felt like she could put down roots for one reason or another. The answer for her was a home church. It actually started in her home and now they've grown big enough that they rent a space and meet there. There's something like 30 people now and everyone of them is like family to her. They all gathered around her and took care of her when she was going through her breast cancer treatments and they love each other so much. It's just something to think about in any case. I think sometimes a person has to think outside of the building to find the church, kwim? I pray you can find a good church home. Good luck to you dear. :grouphug:
  15. :grouphug: I cannot even put what I want to say in words. I'm just so happy. And yes, God will be found in the strangest places. :) I always think of the story of the Samaritan woman and how Jesus went out of His way to meet her at the well. God is SO merciful. I am SO GLAD that you are my sister! :grouphug: :) Lots and lots and lots of love to you! :grouphug:
  16. LOL Sure! Anytime. I'm less than 2 miles from the beach right above the Miami border (10 minutes away). Come on down and I'll show you how to cook Cuban black beans. ;) :D hehe
  17. Just simmer them on med-low (covered) for an hour or so and start testing them after that. If you pick it up and blow on it and the skin peels back and it squishes between your fingers they're done. I always just pop one in my mouth to make sure though. ;) Drain them off before you add them to your soup so it doesn't overwhelm your veggie base with a bean-y taste. :) Are you going to invite us all over now that we've helped you? ;) :D
  18. Greta! Your post brought tears to my eyes. I cannot tell you how much joy it brings me to hear your words. I remember when you were searching and to hear you now, it just fills me with joy. I cannot tell you how happy I am for you to have found the place where you belong and your church family. I am so thankful to God. God bless you sister! :grouphug:
