He loves teaching....it's just that the salary can't compete. And right now he doesn't want to tie himself into a schedule that might conflict with a better paying job.
I totally get it,It is a side gig thats for sure .Best wishes to you all and praying he finds a job soon.

Vocational trade schools that are approved by the state offer various courses like hvac, entry level data science, data processing, court room reporting.web page development, welding and a lot more, I know there is a list on the Texas workforce development website for Vocational trade schools. There shoule be information for the apprenticeship programs on the same site.

In England we ate this Chinese/Himalayan (Nepalese) fusion food that was unbelievably good. Here's a link to their menu page. https://www.the29029restaurant.co.uk/indian-dishes-dorset-our-menu/
They did this thing called Samosa Chat that was like samosas gone nacho, oh my. Chopped up, piled up with deliciousness. If you can figure it out, I'm coming to your house. 😂
Btw, british curries are very easy to eat, sort of mild and homey even when they say they're spicy. When I've been to indian restaurants in the US they were very amped in comparison. I need to learn how to make them.
Samosa chaat is Indian in origin. Chaat is considered street food and is available though out the subcontinent.
There are a ton of recipes and you can make it semi home made(buy pre made samosas and the chutneys that go with it). Here is a link that has a few chaat recipes

I don't know if anyone suggested this but can you not go? Or can you go alone after Christmas more around New years for a few days and come back? Can you make an excuse that your kids are busy with school work, Internship or whatever excuse you all can come up with. I am saying this because I did something like this and have not been home in a decade. Every time we go its such an ordeal,Dh and I are from the same city and his mom and dad come from large families(10 and 7 siblings)So lots of cousins and Aunts and Uncles on both sides in a very large city.Everytime we go Mil has to have her way and drags us to everyone of her siblings home! She then makes my DH throw a huge party at her home(catered) and invites the same people!
Then there is my mom who gets insanely jealous if I spend any time with anyone else but her! I finally got done and now refuse to go, Its hard saying no but this is the best decision for my family. We have attended weddings that were in not in my home town. I have cousins who live near me so we do get to see my extended family that way.My 1 sister passed away last year and the other lives near mom and is equally crazy as my mother. So I stay away from it all!

I assume he’ll be on warfarin going forward—it can be a little tricky at first, but don’t let anyone freak him out about it. It’s manageable!!! A good hematologist is worth his or her weight in gold though!
I absolutely agree with this. Being on Warfarin can be a see saw but he will learn to manage it along with his diet, Vit K intake and frequent(at first) blood draws. It will come to a point where dosage management will get easier. EVERY dentist visit(cleaning)will require a dose of antibiotics. They will teach him to manage it and do read the hand book the hospital provides carefully. You can always pm me if you need any answers.

Does anyone know what will happen if they decide he won't survive the surgery? From what I am reading it sounds like he will go into congestive heart failure which they will try to treat. Is this correct? And is so what is the typical life expectancy?
I wanted to address this Kidshappen I am sure its not up to the Dr's and the Surgeons to decide if he will or will not survive the surgery. Like any surgery this too has risks but they will never ever stop trying and will do their best to save his life.
