  1. I'm at my wit's end here with this school. My son has been a student of their's for a little over a year now and this is the first time that we've been aggravated with them!

My son was anxious to be done with their Biology course (quite hard) and thought he was until July 7th. He mailed in exam 7 on that day, even handed it to our mailman personally, but they've never received it!

American School received and graded exams 8 and 9, though.

I've called 4 times and got the response of, "wait another week" because it's summer and there's a lot of vacations, etc.

OK, I understand that, but what about the students who school year round?

Anyway, I just called and spoke with yet another woman who told me that there's NEVER been a trace put on this particular exam!

ARRRGGGH! My son NEEDS to be done with this course to get credit for it, right??

Hopefully, now something will be done about it. Either it will be found, which I doubt, or he'll have to re-do the whole test again, a more likely scenerio.

It seems like the higher the postage rate goes up, the worse the mail system gets.

Thanks for letting me rant, gals!

  2. that he needs to have all 4 of his wisdom teeth pulled out as soon as possible! The Dr. showed me the x-rays and his wisdom teeth are growing sideways, pushing bottom and top teeth forward.

I'm more nervous about this then him because when I had mine out many moons ago, they got infected and that's when I found out I was allergic to antibotics!! I wound up in the hospital because of the darned things!!

Has anyone out there had their wisdom teeth taken out recently?

    If so, how'd it go?

  3. We had to put our 5 yo ferret, Jake to sleep today. He was a very sick little guy since the day we got him, had to be on medicine every day. We brought him to the vet yesterday for an x-ray and discovered he had bladder stones...he couldn't urinate and they took out 30cc of urine to make him more comfortable. My son was hoping for a miracle, but that didn't happen. This morning, Andrew noticed Jake was bleeding out of his rectum and it was all over the cage and bedding...even his brother Max!! What a mess!!

Poor, poor thing. He's more comfortable now and he won't have to take that awful medicine any more.

We just very concerned about Max as he no longer has a cage-mate. He was running all over the place looking for Jake.

    RIP little Jake!!

  4. I'm from MA and I read your post, obviously. :o

Have you looked into UMass Dartmouth at all?? I went there several hundred years ago...LOL and it's a very good school.

My son is interested in going there and the tuition is $8500/year without room and board; around $10,500 if you live in the dorms. I think it's a lot less expensive than the one your son was accepted into.

UMass DArtmouth has an education major as well.

    Just a suggestion, BTW.

  5. Here are some problems that my son and I can't figure out. Please help us!!

    1. The square root radical of m multiplied by the square root radical of m^2.

    2. The square root radical of m^2/n^3

    3. the square root radical of 2 + the square root radical of 2/49

    4. Write the following into an equation and solve..

One eighth of the square root of 7 less than a number is 2. What is the number?

I want to thank whoever solves these problems and I'll offer huge amounts of Chocolate in appreciation!!:p
