  1. MSNBC or the other news stations online. I know they were showing it online at the same time it was on air. Maybe they'll show it again online, maybe on youtube.

Despite what some others are talking about on another thread, it was very moving, especially when his young daughter, Paris spoke.

    I broke down in tears.

There'll be people who say it was over the top, but they are not true fans of the guy. I was and still am a huge fan of Michael Jackson.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

  2. ARGGGGHHH!!

I just can't stand it!! Got a call from UPS last night that my son's XBOX was going to be delivered today between 8am and 7pm so we had some errands to run and run we did. Got home in time for lunch and waited. Sometimes when we have deliveries from UPS they come at dinnertime and sometimes they come at around 1pm, OK fine.

I've been nagging my DH to fix the doorbells, but he 's been busy with other things around the house. Had a note at the front door that stated that the doorbell didn't work, but took it down because people who would come by would practically break the door down by pounded on it so hard. If the doorbell was pressed, all you'd hear was a loud buzz so that's why I took down the note.

Well, apparently now the doorbell doesn't even buzz because I heard a truck at around 1:30pm and figured, OK, he'll ring the bell and the bell will buzz!! Heck no...nothing happened, guy left a note on the window stating that he'll return tomorrow between 10:30am and 2pm!! ARGGGHH!! THIS time we're going to stay home until the package is delivered. BTW, Someone has to be home to sign for the thing and they have to be over 21yo.

Thanks for letting me vent, Ladies. Sorry.

  3. am amazed at all the other people who have had problems with the XBOX360!! You're all right...it's junk!!

I just wanted to let you all know, that we have an original Playstation 1 console that STILL works and a Super Nintendo 64 that STILL works as well!! What does THAT tell you?? Yes, you guessed it, everything that's made today is junk. I feel sorry for the kids who save and save like my son for something they really want and it's a big disappointment. It's ALL about the money, I think.

Oh well, we sent it out to be fixed so we'll see what happens. It would be great if it can't be fixed and they send my son a check for the amount he paid for the piece of cr@p!

  4. Yesterday, my son was playing "Fallout 3" and I heard him say: "OH NOOO!" so I went upstairs to see what was what. He told me his XBOX made a grinding sound like a paper shredder does so he quickly removed his game. Then he put another game into the console and it said that the disk couldn't be read. It did the same thing with all of his others games, too. My son was so upset because he saved and saved in order to buy this game system--$500 BTW!!

I called Microsoft and--here's a surprise--talked to someone from India!! I couldn't for the life of me understand this person. I had to ask again and again to repeat what they said. This game console is only 1 and a half years old and my son takes care of all of his possessions. Thankfully he bought an extended warranty on the thing, but still it should last longer for the price he paid for it.

Anyway, we sent it out to be fixed today by way of UPS and had it insured for $500 just in case. Any other kids out there had their XBOX crash on them??

  5. but I've done some researching and 18 is considered an adult. He's so glad that he's waited because he doesn't want to sit in a classroom for 6 hours at a time, for a week or two days at a time!

I've checked around and a lot of sites say, UNDER 18 years of age.

I'm also relieved because, in MA, both my DH and I would have to attend a 2 hour course ourselves and we've been driving for 30 years!!

Anyway, I'm still thinking of buying driver's ed in a box just so my son can get good defensive training at home and then go get his permit and then take driving lessons from a reputable school.

    Thanks again, Ladies!

  6. waited until after age 18 to get their learner's permits/drivers license. My son isn't very anxious to drive, first of all. He'll be 18yo in 3 months and what I'm wondering is if he needs to go for driver's ed at his age. We live in MA and on the MA website it says 16-18 years of age, but it's not very specific to whether it's required.

My son has never been in a classroom setting and is dreading having to sit in one for 6 hours a day for a week. I was thinking of purchasing the driver's ed in a box for him, but it says it's not accepted in MA on the website.

Has anyone's kids out there waited beyond 18 years of age to get their learner's permit and did they skip the driver's ed class?

Thanks in advance for any help or direction.

  7. talking about the missing 5yo girl, Haleigh Cummings, down in Florida! She was snatched from her bed on 2/9/09 and no one's seen her since.

I find it extremely weird that there's no sign of her whatsoever.

The dad just married his 17yo girlfriend after only a 3 day engagement, etc...

I'm just curious if anyone else out there has been following this case and what your opinions are.

The other case I'm following is the Casey Anthony one where the mother "allegedly" murdered her beautiful 2yo daughter, Caylee.

This world is getting too scary for me. Little kids are no longer safe!

  8. and as I thought quite varied. My son and I are torn between a sun conure, parakeets, and an African Grey parrot. My son would prefer the African grey just because you can teach them to talk! I don't know if a 50+ year commitment is reasonable, though. That's a verrrry long time.

We've never owned a bird, so that's why I'm asking around about them. I know that I can do a search on the internet, but thought that I'd get opinions from people who actually own them.

I do know that birds are messy and I'm not afraid of a little work. Our ferrets were a lot of work, but we enjoyed every minute of them. I'd love to get them again, but I'm very allergic to them causing me to need an inhaler.

Anyway, thanks again to those who answered me. The info was very appreciated.
