After reading your post, I'm drooling on my keyboard.
Anything to do with chocolate sends me over the edge...especially when it involves coffee, too!! :tongue_smilie:

My cat, Shadow, knows how to turn on the faucet when he's thirsty.
Saw him do it with my own 2 eyes, too!
I also adore cats.:D

but I found out that I was very allergic to the little guys. They gave me severe asthma so it doesn't look like I'll be getting anymore ferrets anytime soon.
I can say that they always made me laugh, smile, and made my life a whole lot more pleasurable when I had a bad day.:001_smile:
Thanks again everyone.

Woke up this morning and found Max, our last ferret, dead in his cage. Of course I cried like a big baby, after all we had him for 5 1/2 years. He lived 7 months longer than his brother Jake, and I'm very glad he went peacefully in his sleep. No more missing his brother. I'll bet they're both running around, drinking from a ferretone river and eating tons of n-bone treats until they fall asleep from exhaustion. We'll miss the little bugger bouncing in his cage anxious to come out and play. Everytime I'd come to get on the internet, Max would wake up and want some hugs and kisses, which I gladly supplied.
I know he's not sad anymore being the only ferret and missing his brother. He's with plenty of other ferrets now doing his ferret dance, dooking, and just doing what ferrets do for all of eternity.
RIP Max, I love you!

I despise glasses, BTW. I'm considering lasix surgery in the near future.

myself because I always seem to be on a diet. I always "seem fat" to myself. My DH told me that I'm too sensitive, too.
Oh well, it must be my menopause hormones "kicking in."
BTW, I have to go back there tomorrow because they charged me twice for my co-pay!!!:glare:

The other night while reading, I put my eyeglasses down on the bed next to me and the phone rang. Well, I rolled over to answer it and heard a loud CRUNCH!! Yep, it was my glasses. My son heard the sound in the next room. I'm wearing a pair of 10 year old glasses right now and have had a headache for 2 days.
Anyway, went to get new glasses and had an eye exam because I haven't had one in 3 years. We go to Target because that's where our plan is and there's this new doctor there. She has absolutely no personality to speak of. Tried making conversation, but to no avail. I had to tell her at least 3 times what happened to my glasses and I guess it finally sunk in.
I get into the chair and since I'm short, she has to raise the chair to a certain height. Well, she pressed and pressed the button and the chair didn't move and guess what she said??? "I guess you weigh too much because the chair won't go up!!!" I guess my jaw fell to the floor because she said she was only kidding, but I'll tell you my feelings are hurt because I'm 4ft. 10 inches tall and weigh 100lbs.!
Is that fat to you? She didn't even apologize. My son needs to have an eye exam and I don't think we'll go back there.
I told my son what happened and he was quite upset, said he should've come with me. He said that that doctor shouldn't kid about weight, especially with a woman.
Well, I guess I learned a valuable lesson today.....never put your glasses where you can roll over onto them. Put them in their case or on a table.
Thanks for reading!

9 years and still going strong? Yup, my Toyota Solara is going to be 9 years old in May and still has original battery in it!!!:tongue_smilie:
I know I'm pushing my luck, so it'll probably get replaced soon.

Thoughts and prayers to you and your son.
I'll be praying for your son every day and night.
Godspeed, Jean.

interested in this field. I've asked the same question before, but received no answers. Hopefully, you'll get some.:D
-
The answers you posted are the same ones that I thought, but wanted confirmation on.
Thanks for the great explanations, too.
Happy New Year to you and yours!!:001_smile:

Ok, these problems just need a true or false answer and have us stumped a bit. The zero is the Greek symbol theta.
1. sin0=1/csc0, where sin0 doesn't equal 0.
2. cos0=1/sec0, where cos0 doesn't equal 0.
I know that 1/sin0=csc0 and 1/cos0=sec0, so does the inverse of them make them true?
3. tan0=-cot(90-0), is this true or false?:001_huh:
thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.

OK, now, everyone out there go and get your poles!!

Do stores where you live charge tax on candy??
I ask because I bought some chocolate today for my son and was charged $0.49 tax on the total. I told the kid that food wasn't supposed to be taxed and he said, "It's chocolate." I said, "Well, you EAT chocolate, don't you?" I paid and went home fuming.
Just curious, because eons ago when I worked retail we were told NOT to tax anything you eat, i.e. candy.
Thanks for letting me vent a little. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know.

the answers gotta be 5/2. If not, I give up!!:001_huh:
-
I got it!!!
The answer is 4^2/3 right???
So, x= 2/3
log(4) 32= 2/3
-
Well, I know that if the base was 2 instead of 4, x would be 5, but I'm still stumped. I guess my brain is tired today.
-
OK, my son and I understand logs to a certain degree, except how to solve this one:
log(4) 32= x
Thanks a bunch, Ladies!
-
Yes, you interpreted #1 correctly.
Thank a bunch for your help.
-
1. Simplify this one:
-x^2y^2/x^1/2y^0
2. write in exponential form and simplify:
cubed root of "a" * fifth root of "a" =?
3. Is this one correct?
cubed root of x^5y^5= (x^5y^5)^1/3= x^5/3y^5/3..or can it be simplified more?
TIA!

was sentenced today to 15 years in jail!!!:D
There is a God... finally he got what he deserves.
The media asked Fred Goldman what he thought about the sentence and he said.."more than thrilled".
Justice has been served.

That's what the problem stated and that's why we were confused, but figured it out after a couple of hours.
Thanks anyway!
-
Thanks for your help. We finally found out how to do this problem after awhile.

Yes, Jann, there's an x squared in the first equation. We finally found out how to do it after a couple of hours.
Thanks for your reply.
Do you think wild primates should be allowed as pets?

I'm an animal lover but don't think chimps should be allowed as pets. A chimp is a wild animal by nature no matter how similiar they are to us.
People who have tigers, lions, and alligators as pets shouldn't be allowed to have them either! Much too dangerous.
