I am so excited to share that I sold enough curriculum and junk on Craigslist that I can afford a new floor for my school room! After that is in, I will be proud enough of my space to put in a picture!! Yeah!!

We just did a big renovation on our house. New carpet/tile/walls/doors/trim. We were looking for a nice leather sectional to be the whipped cream on the sundae.
I found a designer reducing her inventory - got a brand new - still wrapped in plastic leather sectional/ottoman (with the cool storage drawer) and a leather matching recliner (and these were all leather, not leather match) for $1400.
I consistently see like new pieces on our listings, and those are very inexpensive (like a leather couch and loveseat for $500 or so. So, I vote for waiting and look around for what you can find less expensively.

Gotta love PMS. Plus, I have spent too much time looking at the boards, lately. Idle hands, you know...
Have a good day.

I merely pointed out what I had learned in my research - for my sons' business. I was not trying to "imply" anything. I was just trying to be helpful. Maybe it is time for a board break for me.....

One more message regarding your eggs...We have lots of chickens (75) and we have been selling eggs for several years. When we started, we researched the best way to clean them.
If you Google the info, you can find that the best way is the driest way possible, as water will remove a natural protective coating that keeps the egg fresh. Eggs are porous and solutions other than basic water are not recommended for safety of the egg.
That being said, if we get an egg that has some extras on the outside - getting the area damp with a damp cloth - letting it sit for a minute or so - it'll wipe right off. Hope this helps.

I will definitely check out these other sources. When I said that my friends were "enlightened" I just meant that they were more well versed in their Catholic understanding and knowledge than I am. I respect those who know more than I. (which seems to be this HUGE number and growing more and more every day!!! Sorry about the author confusion, I was just looking at the wrong book when I put it in)

Anyway, keeping them dryer the better, you can use sandpaper with fine grit - but most of the time we just use a damp paper towel - literally just enough water to do what is necessary.
Incidentally, how much do you pay for eggs, there?

Wow, I wish I had that 2 years ago, so I could have started my history rotation with it. I am using ToG, but am going to supplement and read aloud many of the great books that this history program recommends. Thanks for pointing it out.

"Christ in the Americas" by the Most Rev. Philip Furlong? It is by TAN and they also have a workbook to go along with "Christ in the Americas." I just wondered what your perspective was on these - I haven't used them yet, but have been told by my more enlightened Catholic friends that they are good. Thanks.

Or are they soluable and flush out of your body? Thanks.

We bought that window film from Home Depot that you apply to your windows to reduce heat and gives you a low "e".
Well, that reduced the heat of our upstairs by about 10 degrees. It is amazing. We thought we were needing a new system for the house, because we couldn't keep the upstairs comfortable. We are in the process of putting it in everywhere.

We start R&S in 3rd grade, after we finish FLL. Personally, I do think they learn alot with FLL, but do they retain???? At that age, I think exposure is the best thing. We start fully concentrating on retained knowledge in 3rd grade - with R&S 3rd. It has great review, so I think you'd be fine.

I have a 7th grader and a 3rd grader. We have been using HWOT for years. I want to do a review with older and continue with younger this year - kinda a fun class that we can all join in on.
They both want to learn another way of writing. I was thinking maybe Italics? What (besides HWOT) would be a nice looking, easy for boys, type of handwriting? Any suggestions appreciated!

Check it out if you are interested.

We started to use it with my youngest, then I dropped the ball. It is like new and $18ppd - you could check it out in person that way!! I used it in 1-2nd grades.
-
Son going into 7th grade, so I've bumped it up a notch - I'd guess we will be spending about $1500 total on 2 kids (7th and 3rd)
Major purchases include: Rainbow Science, ToG and goodies that go with it. We also do a co-op that we pay to attend.

Let's say you came up with a really great design plan...
for something like a Lego table that is really great. How would you go about getting that plan to someone to turn it into reality? This is such a great plan (inexpensive, portable, has storage and has easy cleanup.), that I think it could be a hit. What would you do, where would you go? Thanks.

I will probably go with a lighter shade or teal (will that work? It is Green AND blue!) I love that color and it will look great with white woodwork and hardwood! Thanks.

What color would be the most conducive to learning? We are getting a new floor in our school room (yeah!) it will be a wood Pergo floor. Anything will go with that with white trim. So, I want to choose something that will add a little to the learning time. Anything but yellow or orange, please! Thanks.
