  1. I really like Teacher Created Resources literature units, like....A Guide to Using to Kill a Mockingbird. These units have vocabulary, quizzes, unit tests, critical thinking and hands on activities. They are a reasonable price too.
  2. Drill set A cards 1-20 number words up to twenty, cards 22-25 shapes, cards 26-27 process terminology(sum and difference), cards 28-33 money, cards 34-53 ordinal numbers, cards 54-60 days of the week, cards 61-72 calendar (months) , cards 73-74 calendar measures, cards 75-77 linear measures, cards 78-80 clock measures, card 81 dozen, card 82 pound, cards 83-85 capacity measures, cards 86-88 fractions, cards 89-90 greater less than, cards 91-104 roman numerals, cards 105-106 process terminology of addition and subtraction, cards 107-109calendar measures( 1 year =how many weeks, days, leap year), cards 110-115 temperatures, cards 116-175 place value. For addition and subtraction flashcards if you go to page T46 in the curriculum plans(1st grade)...for the addition cards start with the one family and number them in order and continue down the column...keep numbering in order all the way through the thirteen family. Subtraction cards are a little different. start with the one family...they are numbered in reverse order...1-0=1 is card one, 1-1=0 is card two....do this with the two family two family...2-0=2 is card three, 2-1=1 is card four, 2-2=0 is card five. Do this with each family all the way through the thirteen family. Now you can figure out which cards they are referring to.
  3. @junebug Post it highlighting flags. I get the bright colored ones. I first found them at Wal-Mart, but when I went back to get more they didn't have any in stock. I found them on Amazon and keep them on my wish list. I don't like marking in our books so I have taught the kiddos to use these to highlight their answers so they don't lose their place. I also use them as start and stop markers, if you use pencil you can erase them and I use them til they don't stick anymore.
  4. I am using it with my 9th grader this year, it is a good fit for us. We are doing WW ll right now...I like the layout of the pages and most of our topics have a notebooking page in the package I bought. But there is also a blank template provided so that you can use it for a topic that isn't in the package.
  5. Try using the wayback machine. I did a while back for the same reason. You will find some.
  6. I also condsidered MEP it looked very good at first, but then I also like some of the other posters realized it had alot to wade through to get to what you really need. I have used MM and like them alot. I use them for dgs when there is a concept he needs more practice on. The price is fair(actually I picked up several free when she made free offers) but even when I pay for them it is worth it.
  7. You're welcome. I can't help wanting to solve a mystery....lol
  8. How about this one. I did a search here on the boards and found one of your old posts that said something about the copywork and that someone named Jennefer had done it. http://smoothstonesacademy.blogspot.com/2007/07/history-ancients.html Simple one sentence copywork sentences for SOTW volume one. She mentions in her blog that someone else did part of it and allowed her to post it and she did they rest.
  9. I have two bulletin boards in the schoolroom. I use one for the younger and the other for the olders. I did a search on the internet and found some ideas and pictures of one that someone had made from insulation board(big styrofoam sheets you can get at HomeDepot or Lowes) covered with material. I suggest if you do this that you get the one inch thick board and use heavy cotton material. Works great.
  10. I don't know if this is what you were looking for or not. And it has been posted in the past on this forum by the blog owner I think. But this is what I found. I did a search for copywork for SOTW book 1. You have to go to each chapter and find the copywork link. Here is Chapter One....Look for the link that says Copywork page to download. http://runofthemillfamily.blogspot.com/2009/09/sotw-chapter-1-earliest-people.html and the shortcut to SOTW post that lists books, movies, images, and copywork pages by chapter.... http://runofthemillfamily.blogspot.com/search/label/ancient%20civilizations
  11. I did my own curriculum totally when I homeschooled my two dds, but I now homeschool 3 of my grandkids and we use Abeka...but I would say for history and science Abeka is the spine and I like to add notebooking and lapbooks etc. We are notebooking history totally this year...I have them read the assignment in the book we discuss comprehension questions and I choose notebooking pages to go along with the subject matter. I am also working with the two olders, 12 and 14 yrs old, teaching them how to summarize the section they have just read. Basically, if you know all the answers to the comprehension questions, you just write in narration form.
  12. I think this might be what you are looking for... http://donnayoung.org/forms/planners/cover.htm I think there are others I've run across in the past...if I find them I will post links for those also. here is another one, be sure to scroll down through all of it. http://www.abcteach.com/directory/portfolios/portfolio_covers/subject_covers/ one more... http://www.homeschool-curriculum-for-life.com/support-files/notebookcovers.pdf
  13. I recently went browsing the internet looking for a study guide for The Children's Homer. I was amazed at how little there is for this book. Although there is one that is supposed to be a good one, but it is from a Catholic viewpoint(no offense to anyone who is Catholic), but that isn't what I wanted. I just finished writing the chapter summaries(called books) Wow! what a chore! Has anyone else done this when you can't find what you want?
