Our school system really dropped the ball on snow day notification today. DH and Squirrelboy were about to walk out the door when DH happened to see the email notification. Apparently no one got the usual phone notfications. I wonder how many kids showed up at schools or bus stops?

Thanks to suggestions from some on this board, DH is introducing DD (almost 5) to Ticket to Ride tonight, playing with open hands. Because who says you need to know how to read to play one of the best games ever? The best part is, she's winning.

I'm taking a break from unnecessary internet use for Lent starting tomorrow. For a not very serious afterschooler like me, that includes the WTM forums :). See you in April!

The bad news is, the storm hitting Kentucky is stopping us from going all the way home from Michigan today as planned. The good news is, the hotel I just reserved in Ohio has an indoor pool. Plus, I would say there's a 90% chance that DS9's school will be cancelled tomorrow.

Our schools are closed tomorrow. DD14 is snowed in at her best friend's. So the house is a lot more quiet.. sadly the snow is not good for sledding...This is so difficult to explain to our children. Hopefully with the temps dropping the ice will be good for sledding.. just hoping we won't lose power. I am so worn out and would love to be at a hotel with a pool!! Hope you all have a great time!!

School was indeed cancelled today, and we all had a blast at the hotel pool. This morning we decided to give the crews a few hours to clear the roads before heading home and we visited the Armstrong Air and Space Museum in Wapakoneta, Ohio. We've driven past it on I-75 many times and always wondering what it was like. It's pretty small and not worth a special trip unless you're a space program history nut, but both the 4 year old and the 9 year old had a good time and we even lear...

Well, I survived another VBS! By the grace of God, I didn't lose any of the preschoolers on the long trek from the preschool hallway to snack in the gym, and I even had some fun.
