    Nothing makes you feel more like a dinosaur than pulling out your old science textbook to plan a unit, and realizing that it is *20 years* old. Um, yeah, they have probably discovered one or two things since then . . .

    I am so frustrated with being "socially acceptable." Socially acceptable when we are out and about, socially acceptable with the neighbors, socially acceptable with my husband, socially acceptable in homeschool, teach Ds to be socially acceptable. Good gracious is there anywhere that Ds and I can just be quirky weird people that have fun!?

      Honestly, there are levels and levels of socially acceptable -- I decided to stick with the level of socially acceptable that means "doesn't pick nose in public"

    Absurdly delighted with the older/antique math textbooks I just was given :D

      These are from my grandfather, who was a math professor; he got his PhD during the Great Depression. Among them are several texts by Allendoerfer and Oakley (I presume he was considering them for courses he was teaching), Chrystal's two-volume textbook of Algebra, and several texts on Calculus from the late 1800s and early 1900s.

    Found the Kindle in the garbage can and Legos in the toilet! Baby loves the garbage can and toilet! Working on training older kids to shut the bathroom door. Can;t lock potty chair or else 4.5 yrs old will flip.
