  1. Would it be a problem to jump into WWS1 if we have never used any of the WWE?
  2. We've done 2 years in IEW. Would we be ready for WWS in 7th grade. OR should we do something else before beginning WWS?
  3. Thank you all very much for your input and helping me. I feel like when I have asked as to why we study Latin I would usually always get the answer because it helps us understand English grammar better. I also heard it can be a benefit when learning a second language. But I spose I wonder if we dont want to "read" Latin if its necessary to really learn it. Following an English grammar program maybe wont be AS good as doing both English Grammar AND Latin. But doing a good English Grammar by itself is good enough? So many really seem to feel Latin is worth the time and I pulls on me :) My hubby and I have talked through this many times and the time it takes to learn it is our biggest concern. He really thinks Spanish or something else would be more beneficial. But I keep having the "they wont learn grammar as well" and the other reasons???? Ha well Ive heard some others ones too. I guess Im just not thinking they are good enough reasons to spend that much time on it. Each family is different which I totally understand. We are a ranch family and are very very busy outdoors and are trying to keep our school load good, but minimal. Its a hard decision at the moment.
  4. I understood the idea of learning Latin to get a better understanding of the English Language or grammar. But it seems like lots of us are still choosing to do a pretty in depth English grammar program or a couple programs for elementary and into Middle or High School years. I guess I'm wondering if teaching Latin grammar works so well why are we still needing to teach English grammar with other programs for so long. Do we really need both to get the job done well? Not being snarky at all about this but a true question. I was never good at grammar and I want to make sure im giving my guys what they need.

  13. Hello everyone, I have this summer to learn grammar. I know the basics and have been around alot of bits and pieces of grammar curriculum. I was considering doing analytical grammar on hi speed this summer but not sure if there is a better way? Do you have any advice on a curriculum I could use to get a decent amount of grammar down?

  17. I realized I posted this in the general area, Sorry if you already seen this but wanted to pop it onto this forum. I was thinking of doingBJU Life for 7th & BJU Earth for 8th grade. But we will be in a class that teaches Apologia Physical Science for 9th grade. Do you think I would be covering the same material? Can those who have used them both give me some pros & cons? Should I maybe just skip the BJU? Since we will be doing APS in 9th?
  18. Thank you for your reply. Would you mind if I asked which one you like more? Are the online videos something we can buy? I went on their site to look and they only had the dissection videos.
