  1. I had been set on doing Nancy Larson. But my group is thinking about doing R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey. Can someone give me comparisons? Wondering if anyone thinks RSO will stick like NL is supposed to?
  2. I have heard that STOW is better for younger students because the way it is written is more for their age group and MoH a little older. My questions is, If you were only going to go off of content do you think MoH actually has more? Or does STOW have better information than MoH? I feel like I see people liking STOW more that MoH, although I know they are both popoular. Thank YOU, for any input :)
  3. dinolingo ;) I found it! Not sure if its good but it looks good.

    LoE k4

Can some of you who have used LOE with a four year old tell me how well it went? I want to begin to teach the letter sounds but not sure if I should do LOE slower paced or just try to teach them on my own. I don think my ds will be ready for a the full LOE curriculum in the fall.
  16. We are looking to switch spelling programs. I showed my boys a few different ones that teach by word families (we will also learn spelling rules) and they loved it. They said it made a lot more sense to them that way. But my question is does teaching by word family create any problems down the road when spelling more difficult words?
  17. Thanks Ellie, Maybe I will just have them do it more times before we move on. Then I can also add in review as we go.
  18. We are using SWR for spelling. But I am a little confused and hoping someone can help. We do the spelling dictation for our list once then we do it again at the end of the week. So total of twice. But this does not seem like enough for them to actually memorize how to spell the word? So even though they know how to spell it that week they may not 3 weeks down the road. Even if they remember a few of them that they didn't know there are still some they couldn't possible remember after only two times of writing them. So I have been thinking should I have them do copy work with the words they didn't know? How do you all do it OR how am I doing this wrong.
  19. We are wanting to learn Hebrew, speaking, writing & reading. I was wondering does anyone know what we should focus on first? I was going to go with Rosetta Stone for Speaking. Sarah & David Read Hebrew Now for reading and writing. But Im just not sure if I should teach at the same time or if one would make more sense to learn first to make the other easier?
  20. Spell to Write and Read works great for this family! Spalding spin off and it makes SO MUCH SENSE!!
  21. We use SWR and really like it here. Makes so much sense to all of us and seems to work well.
  22. Thank you for explaining what you do. Its a great idea! I'm interested in what a foldable cart looks like. Do you know where I could buy one a way to see what they are?
  23. We are moving into my mothers next week for about 6 weeks while we buy a house. Once we do we will then have to gut that one. SO, I have a long time before I get my classroom back. I need to have something to keep it all organized but something that can be mobile. Right now we use desks and they have drawers & we also do the workbox system. I have been using book shelves to store all my books. I'm open to different ideas that might work to still get school done?9 & 10 year olds.
