  1. Huh. I probably misunderstood something you wrote about looking up insurance stuff on your system, then. It was a several months ago so there is no way for me to find it. I just remember thinking that Publix might have been able to find our insurance in their system through this magical database that I thought you had mentioned and even mentioned it to my dh. LOL. Apologies.
  2. That makes sense. Thanks!
  3. Coming back to add that I kept thinking about this, so I googled. It seems that the CVS Caremark is actually a prescription PLAN and can be used anywhere that accepts it. It's like having BCBS or Aetna health insurance and finding someone 'in network'. If you look for the CVS Caremark national network, you'll find a PDF of places that accept it like--- Walgreens, Costco, etc. Nasty trick on their end (and on the end of the employer) for not explaining that to us! They are routinely the most expensive pharmacy and I see a lot of people complain about 'having' to use CVS over the years on various forums. We've had it for years and years, too. Grr. So, while this might not affect you, @MissLemon, it might benefit someone else. I don't know if it makes you feel better, but something good came of your issues and this thread in that I now know I'm not tethered to CVS pharmacies.
  4. That's what I thought I read but I wonder how that translates to grocery stores and pharmacies? And, wouldn't that show up on my insurance page as an EOB charge or something? I thought I remembered @Pen mention something about them being able to access a database of all insurances or something but we don't see anything on our page. It's not like I'm bothered by it. This is serious stuff and I think paying for this as a country is the right thing to do, but I'm just curious by nature and I like to know things. LOL
  5. I'd guess we the taxpayer. We thought our insurance would be billed for the vaccine, or at least the administration cost of it. We were never asked for our cards even though we offered them and nothing ever showed on our insurance website, so who paid? The grocery chain (out of goodwill to get people in their stores to hopefully shop while there like a sale's "loss leader"), or the tax payer? The vax, I know, is the taxpayer, but there is a cost for the time of the pharmacist to give it, so.... 🤷‍♀️ There is just so much confusion in all of this.
  6. Oh, absolutely. I figure that every tool in our tool belt helps, though. Like most things, catching it early enough for the meds to help is key, though, and a lot of doctors are waiting until a patient is about to be hospitalized to write the script. I don't get it.
  7. Definitely. I feel that the MAB is akin to getting the flu mist of Xoflua treatment upon early onset of the flu. It helps prevent the cases that need medical intervention. I have friends in a state with low vax numbers whose COVID pos folks can't find doctors who will prescribe MAB because "it doesn't do any good". So, folks continue to get sicker and need hospitalization. In a state with "negative" ICU beds. Just what the heck has happened to "common sense"?
  8. I'm quoting myself because I went to the Florida gov's COVID webpage for info. https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/monoclonal-antibody-therapy/ Down near the bottom of the page, they say that no doctor referral is necessary. I bolded & italicized the important bit. To Make an Appointment at a State of Floridasite click here To Find Other Monoclonal Antibody sites , click here Monoclonal antibody treatments can be prescribed by health care providers to individuals 12 years of age and older who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 and are at high risk for severe illness and hospitalization. However, to support Governor DeSantis’ initiative, there is currently a standing order in Florida signed by the State Surgeon General that allows patients to receive this treatment without a prescription or referral if administered by an eligible health care provider. Such referrals are not required at any of the State of Florida monoclonal antibody treatment sites and treatments are available at no cost to patients.
  9. Wait, what? I thought Desantis said all we needed was a positive test? Like you, where we are there are no testing appointments available for several days. In fact, I checked a few places yesterday on a whim, and the first available was Sept 3.
  10. Thanks. I may have to look into this. I hate "having" to use one pharmacy over another. Plus, our CVS is on a horribly busy intersection with a horrible little parking lot and are insanely busy. I'd rather just get my scripts at the grocery store!
  11. I agree that it was probably a simple mistake but you should, in no way, be the one responsible for contacting your doctor to fix it. WTH? As an aside, we also have pharmacy benefits via CVS Caremark but have never used anyone else because we don't know what the cost would be. Would you be willing to share what you miss out on by going to, say, Walgreen's or Walmart, for example?
  12. Cache cleared and cookies emptied as part of the usual solutions I try. Nada. LOL. Thanks for the phone number, but what are the missing digits? I found a number on GetHuman but it's a very different one and I hesitate to use it without confirming it's legit. But, I can't get to their 'contact us' page. The generic one. It doesn't have anything to do with a particular product. On their home page, I click on the "Customer Service" tab, then scroll alllll the way down to 'more help topics', and then go right where a wee submenu pops up and click on "contact us". I get the error page with a dog photo on it. All the doge were cute, but I wanted help. LOL. I also clicked the link they sent me in an email, so there was no was I was messing that up and it went right to the 'contact us' page but instead I got the error/dog photo. The entire website or just a particular page or two? My issue is literally only one page on their website. Also, it worked for dh the first time he looked, and when he went back just a minute later, he also got the error/dog page. The issue is moot in that I have been made whole now, but it's puzzling, because I'd like to know if it's on their end or just me for some reason. and if it's just me, I'd like to fix whatever it is. It's a real puzzler.
  13. Welp, didn't work. We tried it all. Really strange. Ugh. I've had several instances where I've had Amazon call me about an issue but this is the first time I've been unable to get to their help options! And why is that the only page on the whole site that I click on that gives me an error?! So, so annoying! So, a point of interest. Dh tried on his computer (same Amazon account) and got the help page. Cool. He closed it and I tried on my computer. Got the dog page. He tried it again. This time, HE got the dog page. He kept refreshing as I rebooted and updated my browser. He finally got the help page up so I got through and my order is being resent. However... when he tried again. He got the dog page again. What the heck?!
  14. Awesome. I'll try logging out and back in and checking by browser for updates just in case. I just checked again and got another (really cute!) dog photo. LOL. I've probably seen all of Amazon's employees' dogs by now! Strange, though, that the help links would be the ONLY ones not working for me. Programming 'tis a strange beast, for sure. Thanks for checking for me!!
  15. That's what I mean by their links don't work. NONE of the things I have used in the past get me to any workable options. I simply get an error page with a dog on it (dogs of Amazon or something). Even the email they sent me with a link to contact them goes to that error page with a dog on it. Are you able to bring up their help options? I tried in a different browser, not logged in and still get the same error page. I don't know whether to laugh or scream in frustration.
  16. I can't get any of the "contact us" buttons on Amazon to work and the email they sent with a link doesn't work (auto-generated email when I requested a refund that was denied because of "internal system" issues, so contact us). Everything goes to an "error" message page. Does the 'contact us" stuff work for anyone or is their entire help section down only for me? I have a package lost in shipping and this is the third day I can't contact them for a refund. Grr.
  17. Wow. We must be neighbors. LOL. Your store sounds just like mine. The next closest one, though, is through a horrible stretch of under-construction, heavily-traveled road, so I simply stopped shopping at WM. For the things I can only get there, I am keeping a list on my person and will pop in to a different store if I pass one while out and about. So far, though, I've not had enough on that list to make it worth the effort. Anyway, I remember in the previous thread many people mentioning not being able to find Shout stain remover. I did score one at a Win Dixie (they were fully stocked and even had those big refills), but I wanted to mention that my local Home Depot and Lowe's stores all have plenty of it, so check those stores, too! I also see odd differences in what stores have and don't have. I wonder if it has anything to do with whoever put in their order for fill in the blank first getting their order, which means the other store(s) don't get any this go-round? That's all I can think of. The two grocery stores I frequent (different companies) seem to have consistently different blank shelves than the others, whereas they are usually both well-stocked.
  18. Oh my. Yes, that's a big chunk of change! It's a shame you had to go through all that trouble and expense. Getting pissy is, IMO, a very valid reaction! Rant away. I often say that 'we don't know what we don't know" and it really smarts. Even more so when money is involved. Even more so when we are trying to help someone with medical needs. The mantra of "live and learn" is fine with little things, but not so much with more important things. So, yeah.... rant away. I'll rant with you.
  19. That is a fantastic idea!
  20. Yes! My loved one tried a regular, old-fashioned metal walker and said it felt super huge and there was no way to use it safely. The height was fine, but it was super wide and quite cumbersome. The NItro is about double what the other rollators cost, but they aren't horrible, thankfully. At least, the ones I saw on Amazon were just over $200. Anyway, I'm glad to have learned about them as they sound wonderful.
  21. While I'm not looking forward to it, I have simply accepted that it just goes with the territory of parents getting older and am reading all these posts in the hopes that I can be a bit more prepared for what may come. So far, both of my folks are doing great, but health issues are starting to appear. I do feel lucky in that they are both still mentally sound as well as physically (for the most part) and have their affairs all in order. Dh and I now live near them, so that will be good down the road. I didn't know that regular walkers had brakes on them. I just thought they were all metal with one set of wheels. Good to know.
  22. Fabulous. That's very helpful! I hear you on the aisles. My loved one has a smaller 3-wheeled one at the moment and often has to fold it up and get through an aisle. Very annoying!
  23. Dawn, I'm sorry to hear about your dad's fall. My parents are up in age and I am reading all of these "elder issues" threads to help me learn as I expect to 'join the eldercare club' at any time now. I really feel for all of you who are in the throngs of elder care. I know my day is coming (looming?!) and I'm not looking forward to it. Hugs to you all. As an aside, apparently, a very high % of falls happen when using a traditional walker. It sounds like the walker "gets away" from the person and they sort of hang on to it while it moves away and then they fall. I can't confirm that, but It makes sense in a way.
  24. May I ask how the Nitro Rollator one compares to a cheaper version (different brand)? I have a loved one that will be getting a rollator soon and am wondering how they compare. From the photos, I see that the Nitro looks heavier, but I'm curious as to comparisons in stability or whatever.
