  1. Does anyone know where I could get just one audio CD from the Story of the World sets? My ancient CD disk one was stolen from my car this week! I am starting ancients this week too, bummer huh?
  2. How does TOG implement Geography? Could you give me an example please?
  3. What curriculum or combo of would you use if you were looking for the following: -Christian -IG, commentary, with socratic questioning, -History highly literature intensive learning about the west and the east, integrating missions, and cultures, art/artist, musicians -Geography integrated into the history but come out with the Countries memorized and able to draw the world map, rivers..etc. -further book lists if want to go deeper into a subject -Maybe integrates Susan Bauers writing courses (WWE) but this isn't neccesary, I could always just substitute this. -some hands on activities although I'd rather spend the extra time teaching the kids to hand sew or carve. -Set up so children from a wide age range can study the same period in history -Some memory work -Science similar to WTM -prefer books from VP, Sonlight, All through the Ages What curriculum would you use if you wanted them things? This is what I am looking for, help! There probably isn't anything out there that does all of these things, what comes the closest? and how would you supplement to add on what's missing? I've really been researching and trying to find something that will work for me in the long haul. Thought I'd ask the buffet!
  4. I am testing out Easy classical the rest of this year using the OT/Ancient Unit. The Geography unit that goes along side it is still under construction. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to use instead? Also, where could I find a free graphed world map that my kids could use as a guide to copy and label onto graphing paper? Not sure if I'm using the right terms :) Thank you!
  5. I absolutely love the All through the Ages guide by Christine Miller, and I've seen the suggestions for each grade on the Classical Christian homeschooling site. My children love books and would sit there and listen to me read all day. So I need a literature rich curriculum although i'm lacking in time to put one together and sort out what to do when.Is there a put together curriculum plan with similar book suggestions set up to teach with many children at different ages? If not, what would come the closest? VP, EC, TOG....other? Grace,
  6. I noticed that afew of you use AAS with your children. What does this stand for?
  7. Besides WTM being free of any religion so people can add there own religious convictions, I'm interested in hearing from you out there that have experience with this, what are the differences between WTM, using The Story of the World with activity book, and Tapestry of Grace? I would be omitting the Writing Aids for Writing with Ease. I am really drawn to TWTM using Story of the world as a Core, but I also like how Tapestry of Grace interweaves their Christian perspective....I have 4 grammar age children, so less planning looks nice, although I'm not to sure it would be less planning than the other approach. Thoughts? Advice? Other similar program that interweaves a protestant christian perspective? Thank you for your time! Grace and Peace,
  8. Thank you for your suggestions, we have printed out some cards from Family Fun. And, PitterPatter, my oldest loves the mouse! :) She is making it right now. Have a good day!
  9. Does anyone hear use VP with many young children? Or has? I have 4 school age children and love the book selections. I've heard you can combine History. How do you make it work for you?
  10. Is there any memory work required in Tapestry of Grace? I'm in the process of trying to figure out what curriculum to use next year. I need something put together for me, yet have 4 school age children close together real close in age, ages: 7,6,5 and 4. This year I am using Classical Conversations at home, Primary Art of Language, Saxon and Living books to supplement. I would like history to be put more together for me though, for my own understand and the childrens. (I do Like CC's approach though and the approach I'm taking this year is still high on my options.) So my options are stay the same next year, Tapestry of Grace, Veritas Press or Sonlight. Is there any other programs I should be considering for my situation? I want a Classical/Literature based approach. Any advice or experience with children close in age? Thank you! Grace and Peace,
  11. I've been procrasting with planning Valentine's Day. What are you doing for Valentines day? Any fun craft ideas? Food Recipes? I'm also looking for a good read to teach them about St. Valentine. Thank you!
  12. Has anyone here ever had any experience with the Spanish Curriculum Pimsleur? I am thinking of getting it for myself (and my children as well) Thank you!
  13. There is God's World Magazine they have different issues for different age groups. www.gwnews.com This is a good conversation starter that could lead to deeper discussions. Grace and Peace,
  14. Hi, I am new to this forum and am excited to learn from all of you! We love audio books in this house. My 4 year old son is obsessed with The Beatrix Potter Collection. The other day I heard him playing with his older brother..... "You are going to jail for a fortnight" . Lol, such brotherly love (they were just playing). Grace and Peace
