  1. Ok, forgive me I'm exhausted and overwhelmed with curriculum thoughts. I was hoping to get some guidance from some who have used TH. I have the American History 1 guide. Is this to be used over 1 yr or longer. Also, how did you schedule it? It looks great, but really packed with info(which is good). Thanks and hope this made sense ;)
  2. After reading that thread I had a lightbulb moment. I don't have to do the system as written, but I can glean from it and modify it to work for our family. There are some great ideas here! I have a vision in my head-now I need to figure out how to make it reality. I'm still not in love with it, but we are courting and growing fonder of each other :)
  3. Pretty in Pink..No worries! http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114572 I just found this thread to read. I should have done a search before posting :tongue_smilie:
  4. "I can see how they wouldn't appeal so much to more relaxed HSers though. Just keep doing what works best for you!" I never said I was a relaxed homeschooler.
  5. Am I the only one not doing this? I understand the idea and think it's wonderful if it's working for people and that they enjoy it. But, I'm just not on the workbox train. Should I be?? We mostly just have our pile that we like to accomplish and then we do it. I guess I hate being restricted to having to do what is in the boxes if their interest goes in another direction(or mine does).
  6. I'm going to do that. I'll go through my books and put away some things for next year or the year after. I cannot believe the choices in just LA ! It all looks so good. :tongue_smilie:
  7. Thank you....sometimes it's just nice to hear that(or read that). That I am not alone!
  8. I'm on a roll with questions today.....I guess I'm trying to prepare my bookshelves and thoughts for another year! I've read various reasons why people like co-ops and are currently in one. Would anyone mind sharing if they joined one and realized it was not for them? Or, if you had no desire to join one? At this point, we have no desire to join one (primary yrs) this decision might change as my children grow. I'm just looking to see if there are others who share my "no desire" thought. I think they are fine and wonderful for many...I like our days the way they are now, but I have moments of wondering if that's ok. :)
  9. I don't have SOTW 2....sorry :) I need to do that....step away and hide!
  10. Seriously, I think I need help! I find so much curr. that I like...now I've gotten myself into overload and don't know what to do. I have so many overlapping products....but they are so good! How do you just limit and decide??
  11. Would this be too much for second grade.... Spellwell Growing with Grammar WordlyWise 3000 Handwriting ETC I forgot to add WWE Thanks!!
  12. If you had a MUS workbook....would you make copies or buy another workbook? Am I even allowed to make copies? Thanks!
  13. Ha! Thanks. Ok, I'm gathering my list and will be posting soon.
  14. Could any tell me how I get started. I have a bunch of books that I would like to sell. I'd like the buyers to be able to use paypal...but, I can't figure out how to get started? Do I just need my paypal account, give the buyer my email addy and I'm good to go?? TIA!
  15. Yes! I know what you mean....I've been thinking lately "what's up with all the mean moms?".
  16. When you invite another family over for dinner, how long do they normally stay? How long is too long? I'm not talking about old friends who are more like family...I'm talking people that you really like, but are just getting to know.
  17. Brenda-The same thing happened with me and Math Mammoth. I was so excited about it and then it got so frustrating. I was thinking the exact same thing about wasting the ink and paper:001_smile:
  18. Did you order the download or printed book?
  19. I love J Crew, but have never paid full price for anything there. When I lived in your state I remember going to a great outlet mall. They had an amazing J Crew and Gap outlet. Does that sound familiar?
  20. Thanks so much! Now I understand. Phew.
  21. My bad....just saw that you use Sing for your 6 yr old :)
  22. chiguirre-Thanks so much for the info. So, it does not matter if I choose the Standard of US edition? I see in your sig that you use MUS and Horizons. Did you use Sing and not like it? Just curious. Thanks.
