  1. I'm trying to think outside the box....

Other things my daughter or her friends do for money around the house:

    massages

    pedicures

    car washes

How about paying for her to learn to clean the bathroom? I pay my kids for training. They work with me. I can make corrections and have them redo things without any frustration as they know it's paid training.

Could you pay for her to read something important to you or for her to learn another skill? We've paid for reading books we recommend and learning skills we view as important. Does she know how to budget? Could she learn computer skills or coding?

  2. Congratulations! I agree about the dates, and it seems a little wordy. I made some suggestions below.

Perhaps start with the yoga section since that is most important.

Name became interested in nutrition and fitness in 2000 and started practicing yoga in 2001. Over the years she has continued practicing yoga and numerous other activities, such as _______ and ________. In 2017 she finished her 200 HR Yoga Teacher Training at X and went on to complete her Children's Yoga Training with X. Her fitness philosophy is that exercise and movement should be both functional and fun for children and adults.

Can you make this section shorter? The kids and adults sentences are a little difficult to read:

For kids, she likes to build classes around their interests using games, activities, yoga, and other modalities to build strength, balance, coordination, focus, attention, and other skills.   For adults, she believes that exercise should be about finding a way to be active that is both enjoyable and rewarding. Mindfulness is also of great importance for both children and adults, especially in today's busy world. (this sentence is awkward. Could you speak to how you discovered the importance of mindfulness?) Finding ways to make mindfulness accessible and relevant to those who are young, old, busy, stressed, and everything in between is another focus of her training and teaching.   another passion.

"Name" graduated from (State U) in 2002 with a Bachelor's in Social Work and worked with juvenile offenders for 2 years until becoming a mother in 2004. As a mom of four, Name has enjoyed working in various volunteer roles including leadership and teaching roles in Boy Scouts and American Heritage Girls. "Name" likes to spend her free time hiking, biking, and camping with her family. She loves cooking, reading, and playing with her kids.

  3. I have a notes list on my phone for everyone in my life I care about. Throughout the year, when someone says to me, "I wish I had..." or I run across something in a store that suits someone, or I notice someone is kludging through a task without something I have and love, I stick it on the gift list. Each person has his or her own named list and I try to keep track of the store and price if I've found a specific thing. It really makes life so much easier at gift-giving time.

I think this is the key! My friend last year mentioned her heels are often dry so I put a highly recommended foot cream on my amazon wish list to order for her birthday this summer.

I also share books I love in Kindle form with friends and family who like to read.

  4. I know how to "be there" locally when someone dies. I'm not sure what to do from across the country.

The father of my sister-in-law's husband just passed away. I'd like to send something now for comfort, perhaps a restaurant gift card? My husband says they don't eat out much - they're very healthy eaters.

ETA: It's my husband's sister and her husband, no kids.

    Any suggestions?

  5. I think you need to find a way to celebrate that feels special to you, whether on another day, at a different time, etc. Why can't you drive back to that end of town to celebrate after the vet appt?

This is important to you so let it be important. Happy Birthday!
