I'm recovering from a concussion. We put up the tree. I bought a package of colored bulbs to decorate it (and put the 2 bins of family ornaments back in storage). Everyone was happy to have a simple tree this year!

We like our battleship card game. I don't see the exact one on amazon but they have other sets.

We started the Christmas book flood last year and my kids who don't really like to read loved getting books! We all snuggled by the lights of the Christmas tree and read after church. I think I learned about the tradition here on the boards: https://www.npr.org/2012/12/25/167537939/literary-iceland-revels-in-its-annual-christmas-book-flood
We're all excited about it this year too!

A game we like to play at holiday gatherings is Left Center Right. We play it with money (each person starts with three one dollar bills) and the winner ends up with the pot. It's simple enough for even young kids to understand. But the most we've ever played it with has been 13 people. It would take a loong time with 30, but it goes quickly and after the first couple of rounds can get really interesting.
Our Thanksgiving tradition is to buy a new game. We bought LCR for this year! Farkle is an easy dice game.

It sounds like you have a good plan in place. Feel free to ditch all the older records!

OK that Swurfer swing looks really cool: I'll have to look and see if we have a branch that would work for it.
My nephews have a Swurfer - It's so much fun!

Target has a beauty one with samples. I think it had 12 for Christmas and went on sale for $15 last year.

BakersDozen, thank you for sharing. I too am heartbroken for your family. I hope I didn't cause you more pain by asking you to share.

We initially liked dd's now husband when they were just friends. We were anxious when they began dating. And we despise him now that they are married. But we say nothing (although we did before they married as did just about every person our dd and the young man know). Thankfully, we rarely see him which is fine with us.
That experience was enough to make our next in line kids declare that they are never dating or getting married. For now that is fine with us as we are still recovering from the drama/trauma of it all. Although 18yods has recently become interested in a girl who is, to put it kindly, an idiot. But it's a fling so we're just watching as are her parents (thankfully, we have fantastic relationships with the kids whom our dc have been interested in...lol, we adore our dd's in-laws but can't stand their son!).
I'm sorry this is your situation. Would you be willing to share some of the red flags? What made you move toward anxiety about the relationship?

I'd go with the minimum you can to graduate him as early as possible. I agree with other posters to create credits based on his interests - CPR certification and shadowing trainers for a Jobs study course, personal finance so he can see how much apartments, car insurance, utilities, etc are in your area.

I bought a set of these note cards for my mom for Christmas. https://mercy-house.myshopify.com/collections/books-stationary/products/new-sanaa-greeting-card-set-10-blank-cards-envelopes
They're beautiful and I'm excited to be supporting a ministry.

Joining you in prayer for the fight!

I'd suggest your prepared response not start with "thank you" but a cut off if possible with a move in a completely different direction, "Oh, you have no idea how beautiful it is there, the kids are excited to hear about __________"...then a return to thanks for thinking about my husband.

Congratulations! You're doing a great job. (You're allowed to enjoy the summer too.)
It has been fun to watch your progress.

We had a similar situation with my ds' car. It was difficult even to find a rebuilt transmission. Our mechanic said the vehicle wasn't worth putting $3500 into the transmission. We only had the vehicle 6 months. It was a hard lesson to learn. We now buy older, popular cars so we can easily have them repaired.

We're working on an in-depth Konmarie anticipating a move next spring. I took 5 bags of donations in last month. My goal is another five this one. I cleared out 3 bags of garbage over the last 2 days!

Amazon was so glitchy the first day. I tried to buy headphones for my dh. I should have called to get the deal.
I used the book code to purchase books for Christmas. I bought the Exploding Kittens game. My ds purchased a drawing pad that connects to his computer. My dd needed a new charger for her Iphone.
I thought most of it was junk.

We live in a climate similar to Phoenix and I agree with Mothersweets. We use sheets with a coverlet in the summer and add a throw blanket in the winter.
