This will be our forth year homeschooling and I finally feel like we are getting in our grove. We started out waldorf-ish moved to sonlight and this year found Story of the World and Apologia Science. Through our love of sotw I read the Well Trained Mind and it makes so much sense. I am just trying to figure out how other large families make it work. We have 6 daughters ages 9,8,6,6,4 and 2. We did Story of the World vol 1 last year with the oldest four together and it worked great. It was the highlight of our school day and it kind of melded into the rest of our life too because we did a lot with the activity guide.
Here is my main question. Do you follow the typical cycles with history(which in our cause would mean teaching 3 history time periods) Or do you really get really involved with just one? Does this put my older two behind when they hit the logic stage?
Thanks for reading. Hopefully this makes sense.
