We've been to Outer Banks, NC a few times and really enjoyed ourselves. We've gone in the summer months and the off season. It's busier in the summer months but still doable. The off season starts in mid-Sept. and the prices and numbers of people go way down. We rented a house but there are campgrounds with pools and other amenities and recreational fun. There are plenty of day and half-day trip destinations -- historical sights, parks, museums, aquariums, lighthouses, etc...Our vacations there have been low key, relaxing, fun family time together. Haven't been in a few years and just writing this is making me wish we could swing it this summer!
Blessings,
Sandy
