Ds1 is going to be participating in the Bible Bee this fall.

I went to SWB's talk at the NoVa homeschool conference about self-education and reading and why parents need to keep reading and learning. Of course, I haven't been doing much of that lately.
What are you other WTM parents learning about? What are you reading? Do you purposefully have a study time of your own?

I would charge at least $150/week.

Our house is open door, but don't expect me to be a good hostess. If you pop by unannounced, I'm likely to go "Great! You can help cook dinner."

Would you want to know if your 6yo was playing with ABC gum?

Only if I were willing to serve what, in my arena, would be "garbage food" for that price range.
Speaking of garbage, dumpster diving is a good budget option.

I take them solely because we home/unassisted birth, don't vax, and homeschool. That way I have a relationship with a doctor to point to, should there ever be an issue.
This is part of why we do them. But also because I want them to be comfortable with the idea of going to the doctor should they ever need to.

I imagine it would be hard to do if you didn't use a lot of processed foods. I'll take a look at the blog later to see her menu.
