  1. I would check out www.doctormurray.com. I use Natural Factors products, there is one called Estrosense that helps regulate hormones/periods. I love their products. I don't have painful periods but have had a lot of stomach issues and his products (recommendations) have helped tremendously. HTH Kim
  2. Hi, We are wanting to study Kansas History, what is the best way to study state history? Thanks! Kim
  3. Hi, Can someone tell me about these two programs and if you just pick one or does one go before the other? I am not sure which one to use for a reluctant 5th grader and a 3rd grader.. Very beginning writers and I am not good w/ writing so teachers helps as much as possible. Thanks, Kim
  4. **Never Mind....ha!*** She has informed me she will stick w/ Learnables, I think she likes it more than I thought... I have the Learnables, I am fairly certain we will continue but..just checking out other options, thinking my daughter is not liking this a whole lot. I am curious, other than Rosetta Stone, what other beginning Spanish program is really good, self taught. Can't afford RS. Thanks! KIm
  5. What do you supplement with to make sure they are getting all they need? I have hesitated using this, even though my son did well, because I am not sure what to get to help w/ the things it does NOT cover, if that makes sense :tongue_smilie: Let me know.. Thanks! Kim
  6. Hi...I would like the Saxon 6/5 set, I also Pm'd you :) Kim
  7. I have had an ipod a few times, quit on me just after the warranty BOTH times. I really need a DVD Player/CD player... Kim
  8. Hi, Okay..this is what I am needing and I am not sure what to get that will not cost a fortune. I do not have a lot to spend, maybe $100-$150? I am wanting a DVD player that will also play CD's and NOT skip them. Preferrably a portable one. I am tired of my radio cassette/cd players skipping my cd's everytime someone jumps while going through that room. Now...I saw a "tablet" on amazon but I don't even know what that is! I plan on getting a Kindle to download books to.. Just curious..not sure what is best to get and only have so much $. Thanks a bunch, Kim
  9. My daughter has finished Algebra 2 and Geometry from YourTeacher.Com. What should I do next? She wants to do Saxon Advanced Algebra? Just curious if anyone has used YourTeacher and what you do when you are done with what they offer? thanks! kim
  10. Yeah...I remember one review that she hadn't finished and I kept checking back and I don't think it ever got finished. I liked reading those but I understand why she quit.... I think it was on the old WTM sight. Not sure now...it was SEVERAL years ago. I know of Cathy Duffy's sight but the ones I seem to be interested in reading are in her book :glare:, and not on her sight. But...thankfully the library has her book, it is just checked out. Oh well...bummer...
  11. Thank you so much for the updates, that is wonderful, glad it is working so well for him! Blessings, Kim
  12. Years ago I used to go to her website, I thought, and she posted reveiws about different curriculum? Where is that? I can't find it anymore.. Kim
  13. Thank you! So...if I use WG Basic, then WW, then WG Advanced, would I just need to add puncuation for the lower grades? I plan on doing IEW for Writing, trying to make sure I do not have any major gaps for LA.
  14. Hi, I love the looks of Winston Grammar but..what do you need to add? I know it doesn't teach puncuation etc...so what do you all use with it? Thanks! Kim
  15. I never thought about that, it makes sense. Thank you guys for responding! Blessings, Kim
  16. Well..that makes sense, I am feeling a sense of relief again. I am not sure why...the things I seem to complicate will probably be so easy for my kids :001_smile:
  17. Thank you for your explanations...makes sense, see...I knew it would..ha! Now..Ruin, makes no sense to me as I have only known this word as Ru in, four sounds but..easily fixed. Guess I need to quit asking so many questions and just start doing.... Kim
  18. Okay, I have a question, well a couple. In words like Sing, Sang, Sung, Sink, Sank, Sunk etc.. Why not just teach the ing, ang, ink, ank as units in themselves as one unit instead of going into how our mouth or tongue sits when it is a nasal sound etc... Some things seem to be overly complicated to me? I had learned, with my older kids, that ink, ank, unk, old, ild, ind etc...there are more...were units, never seperated etc and it worked well. Would it be too confusing to introduce those as units, putting a box around them, while using something like PR or SWR. Now...I don't want to create confusion for my kids so...I know Wanda Sanseri and Barbara Beers know so much more than I do on this so maybe I should just leave well enough alone? Would love to know what you all think! Also...in PR, one of my phonogram cards is the UI, which says /oo/, /U/. Okay..no problem, but the word on the back is ruin? I am confused by this? Are the words on the back of the cards meant to be "keywords" because to me ruin has 4 sounds? Just curious.. Thanks a bunch! Kim (homeschooling mom of 7)
  19. Hi, Tell me about Professor B math, I am mainly looking for something to help in my son's understanding of Math concepts, I feel our foundation wasn't so hot and now he is struggling, he is doing 5/4 right now. I thought this might be a good supplement? Kim
  20. Where do you find Sound Beginnings? Also..those using the "real" Spalding program, how to you do your daily lesson plans, if you do not use the Teachers Guides from Spalding.org Thought I had better edit this...I say "real" Spalding meaning to be a bit funny. I am talking about the material from Spalding.Org, not meaning ANYTHING else :)
  21. Thank you so much for this information! I will check out the samples, I have looked at their website before.... Thanks again, Kim
  22. My kids love the workbooks, they have always liked doing certain workbooks! I think my daughter likes the interaction, my son really doesn't like any of it..ha! AAS might work, I just don't know... When I did SWR it was long ago and I just couldn't wrap my head around it but that was when I had to do everything just as written, I really didn't know how to move forward unless I knew it all well, I just way over complicated it, I have learned a lot since, although I still tend to complicate things, I have learned I really like how SWR/AAS/PR does the spelling. When I get school money I may take a look at AAS. I will probably end up loving it..ha! I just asked some questions about it once and caused a bit of a fuss, which I most certainly did NOT want, left a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing. Kim
