  1. I HOPE they are listening to us. I hate the new classified section. I used to get on WTM almost daily. I have been on just a hand full of times since the change.
  2. He is definitely worth the $10.00. It is a great supplement. He is easy to understand and to watch. We use it for the times of the year we just do not have time to concentrate on a full science program. Most of all, the kids do not mind sitting down to watch him!
  3. There is nothing more humbling to a so-called educated Mom than to sit down and try to figure out your kid's 4th and 5th grade Singapore IP and CWP!!!:willy_nilly:
  4. My kids love these. They read them on their own (9 & 11) before bed-not every night-just when they feel like it. I feel better knowing that they are getting "some history" during the times of the year that we are not getting "enough" history.
  5. I am constantly trying to find online Spanish courses for little to no cost. This by no means a "course" but it has tons of different ways to learn words and phrases. Best of all, its free. You can upgrade to the full version for around 7/month. I have not looked into that yet. http://www.online-spanish-course.com/
  6. Regarding what level SFC is equivalent to: Just to confuse the situation some more...this is the email I got back from Classical Academic Press- Thank you for your email. At this time, I'm afraid we do not have a specific recommendation of a following Spanish curriculum. There are certainly many to choose from. You could probably go on to a high school level Spanish and likely skip to a Spanish 2 level, especially if you use SFC Primer B. I am sorry that I don't have a concrete answer! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
  7. I am curious where you heard that they are coming out with 3 & 4. I recently contacted the company and asked what to do after SFC B. Their response was they had nothing to recommend.
  8. Dolphin Tales was promoted as a big homeshool movie. They had a a website that had a lap book the student could make. My daughter had a lot of fun making the lap book. You should be able to google it??
  9. I agree the sound quality of the chant cd's are not near as good as LFC chant cd's. I still like the overall program though. Hopefully they will have SFC C by the time we finish. I contacted the company for recommendation for what to do after SFC and at this time they had nothing. So, anybody use SFC?
  10. We are using Spanish for Children A and liking it. If we go on to finish SFC B where do we go from there?
  11. I will be teaching the last 10 chapters of Latin for Children A at our local coop. (I am learning as we go) The teacher had to move mid-year. The kids' ages are 9-11. Does anyone have any experience teaching this to a group? Do you have some learning games to keep them engaged? The website has some great activities, but I need something to help teach during the class. Thanks for any input.:001_smile:
  12. We tried Prima Latina last year with my 10 and 8 yo. IMO it was painful. My kids did not seem to mind it as much. We switched to Latin for Children this year and we all love it! They also have free game/vocabulary quizes online. We have not used them; the text and activity book seem to be enough for my kids. We do carry the vocabulary cards in the cards with us to practice on the go as well as use the chant cd in the car. I do not think you can go wrong introducing Latin-even if it is for a short while. It will only help later with other languages.
  13. Thanks for the info. I have never even heard of this curriculum.
  14. Funny, I could have written the earlier post. My 10 yo, who also still believes in Santa, is doing SM5 with supplementation from Key to Series. SM seems to have worked for her, but we are part of the CC community and Challenge uses Saxon. I was afraid of the transition from Singapore to Saxon, so I have pondered seriously TT pre-Alegrebra for next year with supplemenatation from SM IP or SM Word Problems. Saxon seems incredibly boring to me so I do not know how I would get my 10 yo to sit still for it. What is AoPS? I too, feel like next year -6th grade is pivotal, due to the fact that it is the last step before she approaches much more in depth math. I am still deciding....
