  1. Will be going for a swim in the ocean in about an hour or so. Kim, yes, I love swimming and yoga. I miss running so very much, but will not be able to really do that anymore. I'm almost 45 and don't want to risk any further damage to my knees. Kleine Hexe, thank you so much. Things are getting a tiny bit better, but it may still be too soon to tell. Thank you. If you want, I can still try to find any info that I have. I hope you feel better very soon.
  2. Was hoping to do a DVD this morning, but felt tired and went back to bed. Will swim in the ocean later this afternoon.
  3. Here's the info I have. Right now, I have horizontal ridges on one of my nails and I know that I'm doing everything right. I guess it's a part of aging. VERTICAL RIDGES Due to age – think of vertical ridges as wrinkles on your nails Buff gently and just a few times per week – 3 or 4 swipes per nail per week As we age, more biotin is rerouted to support vital organs like the heart. The result is that we often get ridges on our nails. Take at last 2.5 mg of Biotin daily HORIZONTAL RIDGES OR DENTS Trauma caused by picking at your cuticle or continually hitting the front edge of your nail Dents indicate that some condition – a high fever, nutritional deficiencies, psoriasis, or trauma from surgery – has actually affected nail growth Eat enough protein – 55 grams per day Supplement with up to 10,000 IU Vitamin A daily to help your nails metabolize the protein 3 mg dietary silicon to strengthen nails As we age, more biotin is rerouted to support vital organs like the heart. The result is that we often get ridges on our nails. Take at last 2.5 mg of Biotin daily
  4. Swimming - being in water - pool or ocean - is what has always made me most happy. I wish I was a mermaid and friends with all the fish. A shiny tail and seashells that would be my wish
  5. Thank you. :grouphug: Yes, I really do miss those mountains and having four seasons, which we don't have where I live. I have to admit that I myself never enjoyed skiing, but the rest of my family loved it. I love winter, but not skiing. Thanks again. :grouphug:
  6. I am so sorry :(. Give me a little time and I'll do my best to get back to you soon. Lots going on here and lots of stress that I'm dealing with. So far, 2013 stinks. But then again, so did 2012. Sorry to complain. Hoping to do some Leslie this morning, but not sure if I can. Definitely will be going swimming in the ocean this afternoon. I've been doing that most days. Love the ocean and the pool.
  7. Have to start super-early this morning. Very busy day ahead. Will be doing 5 Miles of Leslie. Just some of the many benefits of walking - nice and motivating :): Walking is one of the best weight-bearing activities. The bones in your legs and hips are actually stimulated to grow. And if you walk briskly, the forces acting on your skeleton increase to double or triple your body weight. 25 minutes of brisk walking a day may help prevent menopause-related weight gain and headaches. Moving your body regularly can help to relieve PMS symptoms as well.
  8. About to do Ellen Barrett: Skinny Sculpt
  9. Stacia, yes, those were anxious times. Things just got worse and worse and now they're very bad once again, especially for Baha'is. Yes, I miss those mountains. We used to go skiing every week. We had a gorgeous view of those mountains from our home. Tehran now has a terrible pollution problem. That building was designed by a Baha'i architect, and since the number 9 is one of the holy numbers by Baha'is, there's lots of "nine"s in that structure. Few know about that. If they did, I'm sure they would have destroyed it by now. When I was there, it was more like a museum. I don't know how it's used now. You might be interested in my Iran board on Pinterest.
  10. Going swimming later this morning. Remember: laughter is the best medicine. :)
  11. Stacia, we were in Iran off and on during that time. We loved this movie and thought it was very well done. Yes, some of it was exaggerated, which, for the sake of Hollywood, is to be expected. But all in all, a fabulous film.
  12. New thread. Please post your workouts here. Everyone welcome. :)
  13. Yesterday: Swam for 45 minutes or maybe more in the ocean with my dad. Absolute heaven. The water was pure bliss. :) About to do 4 Miles of Leslie
  14. About to do Ellen Barrett: Grace & Gusto
  15. Hope you feel better very soon. You too. Hope you feel better soon. Woke up late by my standards. About to do: Ellen Barrett: Slim Sculpt
  16. My balance needs a lot of work. I'm really bad at the BOSU workouts and hate doing them. Still, I know that I need to focus on improving my balance. I'm almost 45 and want to try to age somewhat gracefully.
  17. Soon about to do Bosu: Long & Lean workout - from the DVD that came with my Bosu ball (I've hardly ever used it).
  18. Not sure how many miles of Leslie I'll do today. Depends on how much time I have. I was hoping to do another workout, but not enough time and not in the mood for learning new moves. Prefer to keep it simple today.
  19. Cynthia, congrats to your husband! :hurray: Nice to see everyone doing so well and seeing lots doing yoga. I love yoga and need to get back to doing it more regularly.
  20. Soon about to do Walk Away the Pounds - 4 Miles. Thought to make some of us smile. :)
  21. Rosie, this sounds interesting. My reading has been very slow. When we went to the vet's the other month, I met a nice lady who lived near the late Daphne du Maurier/her museum or whatever. I was reading Rebecca at the time. She left me a bunch of books to read. So now I'm reading my first book by P.D. James - Death in Holy Orders.
  22. About to do Crunch: Fat Burning Pilates
