Twins.
We could dream, right??

Sigh.....I wish. That describes my house but I would trade the pool for the tree house.

I have a copy of The Read Aloud Handbook and some size 12 boy's jeans that are in excellent shape!

If you can splurge I promise this is not only amazing but it wears well and lasts a really long time because you use so little. http://g-lvl3.nordst.../9/_6211429.jpg
It is Channels smoothing and firming makeup.

I am with you! I wake up at 1 or 2 every morning and then can't go back to sleep. Then when I finally nod off the alarm goes off and I am exhausted. Sad part is I just weaned my youngest earlier this year so literally it has been since 1994 that I have been able to sleep through the night! (before kids)

I don't need hours. I need days. :D
or months....I am a grudge holder. That being said DH and I have had maybe 4 fights in 22 years. He won't fight-makes me madder!

I have learned a lot from Phonics Road. I am a natural speller but had no idea that certain combos made a defined list of potential sounds(like ou can say "ow" "oh" "oooh" and "ugh") I never gave it a thought! I can just read and spell easily.

You can search "free avatars", there a quite a few sites you can get them from! Or, someone else gave instructions for how to take a pic of your own and resize it.

Think I found one that will work :drool5:

Where does one find a cute avatar to upload? :bored:

I use this recipe since we need egg free.
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
I premix this part in large batches and mix with it when ready- 1 cup of the mixture to: 1 Cup milk or buttermilk and 2T oil

I try to let them sleep until they get up naturally. One DD is an early riser so if she sleeps late it is for a reason. 6 yr old DS will roll downstairs between 9 and 10. I would not dream of waking him up because it would RUIN the rest of the day.

Lollipops are great for a treat and keeping them quiet! I like the present every so often as well. Heck I would go as far as wrapping them to make it take longer to get to them!

Amazing! Thanks so much!

I have been using Phonics Road 1 with my 6 yr old and since he is auditory he remembers all of the sounds very well. It is his lack of visual attention that is slowing his reading. He is very frustrated right now. I just keep reading lots to him, checking for comprehension through narration, and letting him play some computer games. He did like reading eggs so I may start that up again after the new year. Anything I can make into a game works well too.

The savings accounts (HSA and FSA) will be phased out eventually. They want to tax more income.

Yes and that really stinks! We got 2 through on braces and our ortho is willing to let us do 3 payments for the next one (Dec 31st, Jan 1, and the following Jan 1) for the next kid to get in as much as we can.

I wasn't thrilled with scene with the Governor but then again it is a pretty warped show. On a side note where is Downton????? There have been no new episodes on itv for 3 weeks!

Can they raise the rates? Sure but they still have to pay out a certain percentage in claims or they have to do refunds, which you mention receiving. In the long run, this will keep things stable and eventually bring rates down.

The insurance company may raise rates on their own out of greed. Nothing to do with the bill. We pay $700 per month and hardly go to the Dr. I would love the option of a basic govt plan for my family but the plan is not there yet. Insurance companies need to be sent a message CLEARLY that cannot continue to hold people hostage with rates. We all deserve basic coverage in the taxes we pay. I would gladly pay $3000 more per year for govt coverage because it is far less than what I pay now. I would like the option to add a premium level to that so that I can access the docs I want when I want. Still cheaper and no one goes without. That is what Australia has and it is what we need. But who has their hand in political pockets? Big pharm and other healthcare companies. THAT is what is wrong with our country. rant over :cursing:

It means my children will be covered under our insurance until they are 26. One would not have a hard time getting covered on his own. The other has many pre-existing conditions that would have made it impossible without the Affordable Health Care Act (that's the short version name of the bill, not Obamacare). That same child is mildly disabled. Not enough to qualify for disability but enough that he will have a harder time working full time, or even getting his first job. For me, the Affordable Health Care Act brings relief as I no longer have to worry about my children getting health insurance as adults. A huge weight has been lifted off our shoulders.
Part Two: Our premiums, deductibles, etc did NOT go up for next year. Dh's company says it's because of the fact that insurance companies have to use a certain percentage of premiums for payouts so they cannot raise it higher on our plan. This is one of the components of the Affordable Health Care Act.
Yes! and because of that we got a REFUND from our company because they did not meet the percentage! How's that for new? I think if companies are under a certain size they are not effected. All I know is I no longer have $150 in co-pays for well checks. I just used the calculator for our family and nothing should change for us except the benefits we have already received. Will the insurance company raise our rates? Probably but that is out of greed and not the healthcare bill. If we fully understood how well it can work we would be so much better off. Australia has the right idea-truly they do.

Direct TV was a nightmare. Our box kept breaking, the channels were terrible (about 50% were workout infommercials) and ultimately we dropped it for Time Warner (who helped pay for us to get out of our contract). I would never recommend Direct TV to anyone. And don't even ask dh about them cause he will rant for an hour!
Really? We have had them for years and never had an issue with a box breaking. I live for my DVR.

We had Dish TV and switched to Direct TV. We found the price, channel selection and customer service to be better with Direct TV. We will never go back to Dish.
Exactly. Dish is not on par with Direct TV at all in my opinion
