  1. Morning. It took a few days to realize I am still stuck in January, which is understandable, since I feel most of February has been January, round 2. But March is coming! Today's goals: House: chores Cooking: baked potatoes, broccoli, and there might be bacon Garden: continue container watering School: usual Writing: journal, continue revisions. I'm almost there today, so the goal is to finish and then take about 5 days off to do little but read and paint, although I might get a day or two to draft something new. Today is a query day, but it's rainy, and often the internet is spotty, so I may wait on that until Thursday or Friday for this week. Extra: writers' meeting, some phone calls.
  2. Morning. It stormed here, too, and it was noisy and windy, rainy, and there was plenty of lightning and thunder to wake me up at times.
  3. Afternoon. It looks like rain. It's supposed to rain all week. Today's goals: House: chores Cooking: leftovers School: usual Gardens: container watering Writing: journal, continue revisions, reading schedule for the next week because I'm taking a reading break!
  4. Morning. It's another busy week ahead, but less wild than last week. Today's goals: House: chores, linens Cooking: chicken and noodles, broccoli, strawberries and cream School: none, art today! Gardens: pollinate lemons Writing: continue with the revision--about done there, just about a million little threads to tie up, catch up on some email stuff, plan a few days off for reading and art.
  5. Morning. Going to art today for the first time in about two months.
  6. Morning. Staying at it today. Goals: House-chores, March schedule work continued Gardens-pollinate the lemons School-usual Cooking-had leftovers last night, so I'll roast the chicken today and make the lemon pound cake Writing-lots of listening today, working on a style sheet, reviewing a synopsis. This whole weekend is pretty much writing work.
  7. Morning. It's raining and there's some thunder. It's about 70 outside. By this evening, it's supposed to be 20. Other than that, I'm fighting a headache, but nothing worse than that.
  8. Morning. Wednesday was a work day. Today is a catch-up day. Goals: House: chores, put a March plan for housekeeping together (some spring cleaning tasks are needed) Gardens: water the big containers Cooking: roast chicken, potatoes, some broccoli, might make a lemon pound cake to have with strawberries School: usual, driving practice (it's raining, so a good day to work on that) Writing: journal, revisions, a lot of story listening and draft clean up work to get things ready to send out this weekend, March revision/drafting schedule Extra: haircuts
  9. Afternoon. Feeling like I ought to be stressed about stuff today, but I'm out of energy, so I won't be. It's a very weird feeling. I want to be worked up, but I just can't summon the needed vim and vinegar.
  10. Afternoon! Been busy already. Today's goals: House: chores Gardens: continue container watering Cooking: grilling hamburgers, strawberries with ice cream for dessert School: usual Writing: journaling, some queries, finish up this revision project (almost there!), create a style sheet for the project for fun Extra: one child has a written driver's test this afternoon, pick up some boats
  11. Morning. I regret to say I didn't pay a lot of attention to the game or commercials yesterday because I was somewhere between the states of unconscious and torpor. Better today. I heard it was a good game. Back to the writing game today.
  12. A day late getting this up, but considering how hectic the weekend was, Monday morning isn't bad. Today's goals: House-chores, catch up anything missed yesterday Gardens-container watering Cooking-potato soup, grilled cheese, something with strawberries School-none, the kids are back, but they got in late yesterday afternoon, and everyone is very tired, including me. Writing-journal, continue revisions. I'm close to calling this project done for now, so I plan to get through the rest of it over the week and then probably take a Sunday off to paint and read. Extra-dentist for me today
  13. I could swear I put this up yesterday, but apparently I didn't. I have snow and ice brain still apparently. The offspring are on vacation this week! So my updates are likely to be sporadic. Goals are to finish up a revision by this weekend.
  14. I gave myself a revision deadline for a project, so it's less fun than it sounds, but still--
  15. Morning. My children are gone. They should arrive in Florida sometime later today. House to myself! Whee!
  16. Morning. Digging out after the ice. We got some snow, but I swear, it looks like a solid half-inch of ice below it, and it might be more. Sun needs to come out soon and melt and dry things. If it dries out a lot we'll be fine, but if it just melts stuff, everything will refreeze tonight and make going to work tomorrow more interesting than I'd like. Other than that, it's cold, but power is on, and I've got a day of writing to work through.
  17. Morning! Power is still on. It's cold. Snow has mostly stopped except for flurries. We got mostly ice, which is fun. Today's goals: Don't go anywhere. House: chores Gardens: keep looking at seeds and plan what is needed for seed starting soon Cooking: chicken noodle soup, cauliflower, possibly something sweet involving blueberries, muffins? School: usual--last day before a week off break! Writing: journal, continue revisions, reading, artwork.
  18. Morning. Ice and sleet. I'm surprised I still have power, but hopefully, it if all changes to snow here soon, we'll be okay. Looks like today is a good day to relax and read, but the boys have school and I have revisions, so that's what will happen. But there will be hot chocolate, too. Today's goals: House: chores Cooking: shells and cheese, chicken noodle soup (if power stays on) School: usual Gardens: select peppers and tomatoes for spring, edible flowers for a salad garden Writing: revisions continue, journaling, might break out the paint and work on a cover for something
  19. Morning. I did not sleep last night due to an overactive kitten who decided it would be perfect if she decided to puke right before bedtime, and then after she came back to bed after her midnight house romp. She is happily shredding the paper pile at the moment, and I hope whatever it was (no doubt that she ate something she shouldn't have because that is what she lives to do!) is out of her system. But if not, she'll have to go to work with me tomorrow and drink the nasty contrast stuff to see what it is she ate. So I'm very, very tired. We football, or more correctly, DH does. I more or less pay attention to who wins and loses, but only intermittently. It's not my favorite.
  20. Morning. I never got here yesterday. It was that busy. Today is equally so, and I think the rest of the week is going to be intense. Today's goals: House: chores Gardens: none, but keeping an eye on the weather today, tomorrow, and for the rest of the week. The chickens need to get out in the yard for some outdoor time. Cooking: chili and cornbread if I get time School: usual, driving practice Writing: journal, revisions. Reading if I get time. Extra: going to try to get a nap today. I was up most of the night.
  21. I need to walk more and probably start some sort of core body workout to deal with my devil-spine. I spend most of January in a lot of pain, and that was really miserable.
  22. I'm alive. I need to do stretches for my back, so I guess I'm pro devil-spine, too.
  23. Morning. It's almost the end of the longest January ever. I'm ready. I want to plant some seeds and get some tomatoes and peppers growing for April planting soon! Today's goals: House: chores, grocery run Gardens: seed inventory, a few containers to water once it's warmer Cooking: taco meat, strawberries with cream School: schedules. Last week before a break! Writing: journal, continue revisions, maybe catch up on some reading Art: going to do some painting today! Extra: some in town shopping. Ugh.
  24. Yeah, look out for turtles on the road! Yay for art class! It's so nice to find something that resonates. I personally hate pastels because they feel wrong to me, and the only way I can use them is to make sure I don't touch them with my fingertips. So one day I want to work with ones that aren't so chalky feeling when I touch them, and I'll probably love it. I've been experimenting with digital art this month--just starting out with some phone apps for my pen, and I'm getting better! I think I'm about ready to go ahead and get Krita, and see how I like that. Waiting on buying a bigger program until I'm sure I'm wanting to go digital for some things. It's NOT as fun or satisfying as paint on paper, though.
  25. It's Friday. Work for me tomorrow, and the boys have their written driver's test today.
