Has anyone been watching Survivor? WOW
KristineIN replied to KristineIN's topic in General Education Discussion Board
He had a cut on his finger that was getting worse and they recommended he leave the game. Kristine -
The house is currently at $27,000 at this point if we got 20000 we would take it and FIL would help us with the Realtor fees/difference. We had it up at $35,000 that's what the realtor suggested to start with. Just pray for us that it sells, I'm going to talk to dh and see if we can at least go and talk to the bank and say, this is where we are at, what can we do to get it sold and get out from under it. It won't hurt to ask and at least make them aware of what's going on. Kristine

Ok, we'll we ARE GOING TO TRY AND DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO SELL IT! I'm trusting that whatever happens, IT's GODS WILL. Everything that has happened to us the past year would not have happened otherwise. We owe $23,000 the house that we paid $42,000 for. It's not like it's $200,000 we're talking about here. Yes, we owe it, we're going to do our best to get out of it, but geesh, things happen. Kristine

Attention Please, all "House" fans...
KristineIN replied to percytruffle's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I think there was one this week also. At least I taped something, I haven't watched it yet. Kristine -
Well I know we are NOT moving back to our former home. It is under 900 square ft. with 2 bedrooms, we were cramped as can be and is farther out from where we live now, meaning our gas prices would triple. It ain't happening. It was a huge mistake that dh and I made even buying it and FIL has no problems with us giving it back to the bank. It's truly by the Grace of God that we are in the house we are in today. I'm just praying it sells, but am trying to be realistic here about what "could" happen. It is in no shape to rent out, it needs money put into it, which we do not have. Basically dh looks at it like this, "you can't put lipstick on a pig." It has a lot of potential for someone, it's just finding that "someone." We just can't sink any money into it knowing we won't recoup it. Kristine Oh & about getting a job & things affecting our credit, dh is self employed and hasn't worked for an employer for 13 years.

For those is you who "shop" Yard Sales...
KristineIN replied to Just Me's topic in General Education Discussion Board
1 of my better finds was a trundle bed for $10.00. (just the trundle part) I also have a tea table and a small night stand that a neighbor just gave me because they did not sell at a garage sale. Some non garage sale stuff that we've gotten free (dh is a painter and we help with apartments every year, students leave everything from, canned food, paper products, sleds, money (average about $20, in change every year, but one year We found $45.00 in change.) We've also gotten a Fooseball table, bookshelves, calphalon pot. These were our recent freebies: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v729/Kristinemomof3/IMG_1355.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v729/Kristinemomof3/IMG_1356.jpg New to us computer desk A friend worked in an office and the office had them start working at home, so she was in charge of getting rid of all of the furniture. Some of it was donated to our church office, some was donated to another church member and some was donated to us. Recently FIL gave us a chipper shredder that used to belong to SIL when they lived in Indiana, but they moved to Alabama about 8 years ago and gave it to him. He wasn't using it. It works AWESOME! WE LOVE FREEBIES!!! Kristine -
I'm expecting next week, ending is 74 Kristine

please share. Let's me first say, we were able to get into a bigger home because FIL bought it. We are making payments to him and some day, we will inherit it. We are still trying to sell our former house, but it's a fixer upper, needs lots of work and no one really wants it. We just made an insurance payment on it, but come July, I'm not sure if we'll keep paying on it. I'm really praying it sells by then, even if we have to take a loss at this point, FIL said he would help cover the difference (with in a few 1,000) we can't just "give" it away. So anyway, if a foreclosure does happen, as far as our credit, I'm not really worried, we won't have to worry about a loan or vehicle loans. One thing that I will probably have to do is switch banks. Our current checking is with the same bank that holds our mortgage and I don't want them freezing our accounts. Anyway, anyone BTDT, is it as bad as I've read? Thanks, Kristine

Wal-mart re-usable shopping bags
KristineIN replied to Quiver0f10's topic in General Education Discussion Board
My cashier started to put them in a plastic bag and I said, "you might as well use them, that's why I'm buying them." YOu know also, I was doing the self checkout at Meijer (the kinds with less than 12 items, you can't put the bag on the bagging area because it weighs them. Even if you wait until you scan an item. It's annoying, I'll just use the conveyor self check out and my kids can bag stuff. Kristine -

How long after moving did you feel settled in?
KristineIN replied to Isa's topic in General Education Discussion Board
We instantly felt like we've always been here, it's been nice. I guess that's what happens when you go from one bathroom to 2 1/2 and double the space. I don't miss anything about our former house, a few neighbors, but that's all. Kristine -
We had Papa John's Pizza on Sunday. Dh takes his lunch every day, we get Papa John's Pizza 1-2 times a month and I take the kids to Pizza Hut during the school year and use Book-It. Other than that, we usually save other times to go out for Birthdays or special events. We have eaten out more the past two months with working on things at the church and needing to grab a quick bite. Kristine

How long after moving did you feel settled in?
KristineIN replied to Isa's topic in General Education Discussion Board
When we moved last summer, I did the same thing. All of my boxes have been unpacked and gone through. I have friends that moved several years ago and still have packed boxes. Now granted we were going from 900 square ft. to 1900 square ft. So we didn't have a lot of stuff, but it was enough! Kristine -
Is competition necessary?
KristineIN replied to Jean in Newcastle's topic in General Education Discussion Board
There are things besides sports that provide competition. Our children are in 4-H and it's relatively inexpensive and can be competitive. Our children are currently not in sports and if they do, it will be when they are high school aged and are in the local homeschool sports teams. Ten is still pretty young, you have a while yet if you want to get him involved later. We aren't now because of money and don't want to spend the extra time. With the way gas prices are, just running back and forth between events, I really don't know how people do it. Kristine
