The Composition and Research class is in the fall, and Advanced Research Writing is in the spring. I'd love to sign dd up for both for her upcoming junior year, but her schedule is already going to be pretty heavy, including Lukeion AP Latin and Greek and Roman History. Adding these writing classes might be too much entirely. Any comments on workload or Randee Baty as a teacher would be welcome. I've heard only good things about the Advanced Research Writing class which has been offered for many years. I noticed that Lukeion is offering an AP English Lit class next year taught by Mrs. Baty. Someone PM'd me last year and told me they'd emailed Mrs Baty wondering how much AP English content they would cover in the new Comp & Research class & Mrs Baty seemed unaware of the AP English (either test) content. So, I'm assuming she must have been beefing up on it this year if she's going to be offering it in the fall. :lol: Edited to add: Lukeion added some age guidelines to their writing page. FWIW, my dd#1 was 15 when she started the Composition & Research class and she's always been a reluctant writer. I don't think the age suggestion for Composition & Research is at ALL correct based on how it was taught & graded last semester.
