yvonne
If you're filling out, or have filled out, the application for NMSQT SF, did you give a weighted/unweighted GPA? Under "School Profile - Grading Information," it asks if the "school" provides a gpa, and, if so, is it weighted. On the transcript, I'll put both unweighted & weighted (at 0.5 for "honors" and 1.0 for AP/"college." Which should I use for the NMSQT? (And I'm not sure where the GPA actually gets entered, other than the transcript, but it's a req'd question in the basic info section. You have to enter a GPA scale.) ETA: There's also a question: "What is the lowest passing mark?" "C"? (I think this is in general, not the lowest passing mark on the specific student's transcript?) regentrude
I gave unweighted GPA. Which seems to have been fine since DD made NM scholar. "Lowest passing mark" refers to lowest grade the school considers passing. Often, that is a D. It puts student's grades into perspective, but has nothing to do with the student's lowest grade. yvonne
Thank you so much, Regentrude. I think I'll go with unweighted then. And thank you for staying on these boards even after your youngest is off to college to answer all these questions that you've probably answered one hundred times before!
regentrude
And thank you for staying on these boards even after your youngest is off to college to answer all these questions that you've probably answered one hundred times before! I benefited so much from the wisdom of those who went before me on these boards and am happy to be able to pay it forward. Not having grown up in this country meant I was completely unfamiliar with the entire process and had never even heard of the SAT. It was daunting, and I credit these boards with giving me the courage and knowledge to homeschool my kids through high school and get them into good universities.
snowbeltmom
I also did unweighted and had lowest passing grade as a D.
