StaceyinLA
Anything beauty product you make or use that is natural and saves money, please post the recipe, and how you use it. This should help those who want to be frugal, as well as those who want to rid themselves of chemical body products!
TGHEALTHYMOM
Extra Virgin Coconut oil is what I use for deep conditioning our hair, massage oil, and to cook on high heat. It is great for rashes too. Some people practice oil pulling with Coconut or Olive oil. I have not tried this yet.
OK Family
Laundry detergent: 1 box washing soda 1 box borax 1 bar zels naptha grated 1 container of bio kleen 1/4 cup for each load Fabric softener: I take a bottle of white vinegar and put drops of essential oil in it I use a Tablespoon for each load Dryer sheets: I cut cotton fabric in 4x4 squares. For each load I get one square of fabric and put 3 drops of essential oil. My anti age serum for night: I mix coconut oil, rosehip seed oil and carrot seed oil. It's awesome, does not cause breakouts. Room spray: In a small spray bottle: 1 tablespoon witch hazel, fill with distilled water and 10 drops of essential oil of choice. I prefer lavender. Roll on perfume: I mix fractionated coconut oil and drops of essential oil scents. Mouthwash: 1/2 cup distilled water 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide Peppermint essential oil For liquid dish soap and hand washing soap: Boil water (I'll look up the amount later at home) Grate a bar of original Castile soap Let the grated soap dissolve in the hot water Then when cooled I place in a large container, add essential oils of my choice and fill my other containers as needed. This works so much better than other soaps but is gentle too. My husband works on cars and well, gets dirty. He loved the stuff. I can post more recipes later or as needed! Firefly
I've been making/using this deodorant for years and love it: http://www.passionatehomemaking.com/2013/01/homemade-all-natural-deodorant.html I scent mine with Sandalwood and vanilla. It's not an antiperspirant, but find it does offer some protection in that regard because of the corn starch. But, if you are a heavy sweater, it might not work for you. SemiSweet
The wellnessmama blog and diynatural have tons of awesome recipes. I have made body wash, shampoo, lotion, deodorant, facial cleanser, facial serum, and hair rinse. Almost all of the recipes have been from those two blogs.
