trafal
I know Maria IRL and she is a fantastic person and really does "walk the talk" concerning her views on children and advanced math. My oldest dd had an opportunity to attend one of her math circles. One of the most important things I learned was how critical it is to use and present manipulatives or a concrete example to the child when introducing a new topic. For example, the kids estimated on how many hairs were on their head by counting the number in a square inch. They also explored the meaning of infinity and how objects can exist on a line compared to a 2-D, 3-D, or 4-D world.
wapiti
One of the commenters to the article noted that the approach sounds Montessori-ish. I would agree. Naturally, this is about selling a book. It looks like it might be fun and interesting - lots of game activities.
Mbelle
I was a Montessori kid and I thought about that right away. I liked math until I got to public school (3rd grade) then I hated. I hated until I finished my one required class in college. I see my dd is the same as me and I sure wish she had other options, but she wants to go to college so she has to do it. stripe
Naturally, this is about selling a book. Maybe, but the PDF is a "name your price" download.
