hmschooln
We're looking at getting a mat for the dc. Dd loves the one they use at dance, she flips and rolls on it without problem. I believe it's 4" thick. Does anyone have any recommendations, websites to order from, or any tips? Thanks
plansrme
Have you checked out prices on gym supply places on the internet? 'Cause mats are expensive! Especially a 4"'er. Prepare to be shocked. Just google gymnastics equipment, and the likely suspects will show up. You might able to find a gym going out of business and score a used one. We did that years ago, and when my gymnast grew out of everything, sold it for as much as we paid for it. You also can find thinner mats (more like a play mat) intended for home use that will be less than a gym quality 4 inch mat, but it may not provide the protection you are looking for. Heather in MD
We bought a mat years ago at Tiffin. http://www.tiffinmats.com/ It has been well-used and still looks great. We lucked out because their factory is less than 10 minutes from our house, so we were able to save on shipping costs by picking it up. brookspr
They are expensive, but I was able to find a 6' long, 3" thick mat on Craigslist for $100. It was in like new condition. I would try there first. Also possibly inquire at your local school, gym or YMCA where they may be replacing them often, as Terri mentioned above.
